The first episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms perfectly kicked off the new HBO series by making sure that its lead character, Ser Duncan the Tall (a.k.a. Dunk), was extremely likable. In a universe that has spawned the likes of Joffrey Baratheon, Ramsay Bolton, and Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish, it’s refreshing to see someone like Dunk on our screens in the Game of Thrones franchise. He's a character who has the build of a knight, but lacks the personality that normally goes with it. The good thing is that that’s what makes him an interesting character.
In the season premiere of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Dunk embarks on a journey to become a knight. Sadly, he’s met with ridicule about his appearance and discouraging remarks about his goal. But whenever things start to look bleak, something happens to remind him to keep going. For example, there’s a moment when he and his squire, Egg, see a shooting star. And rather than be negative about it, Duncan remains positive and says: “So the luck is ours alone?” It made Egg smile and became an example of how things in Dunk’s life will always have a silver lining within the dark clouds.

What to expect in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 2
The first episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms didn’t go into a lot of detail about Ser Dunk's past. We know that he was an orphan and that his guardian, Ser Arlan of Pennytree, taught him to be a knight, but he was also abusive. But what happened to his parents? Did he have any friends? Were the beatings from his guardian the reason he’s not confident in himself and slouches? These are some of the questions that will likely get answered in episode 2.
"The Seven Above gave you tallness. So, be tall."Lord Lyonel Baratheon
Viewers should expect to see Lord Lyonel Baratheon influence Dunk and Egg's lives in episode 2. Dunk had a great experience with him at a feast. However, Lyonel Baratheon was drunk and honest that he didn’t have faith in Dunk. Nevertheless, the Lord seemed to like the would-be knight. This moment won't be forgotten by either and will likely have an impact on Dunk and Egg's lives. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out if that's true.
