A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 3 release time (by each time zone), preview, and more

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 3 brings the HBO show to its halfway point. Here's the exact time can watch the episode that could give us the origin story we've waited for.

Just like the season premiere, the opening of the second episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms featured a moment that some may not have thought necessary. However, it was important for the vibe of the show. It was a reminder that this isn’t the Game of Thrones show you’re used to, but, in some cases, it is. You’ll still get random nudity, but it will serve a purpose. In this case, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is an intentionally goofy, lighter show.

There was a lot to take in with the sophomore episode, but, for me, the most important came when Dunk went to the joust. It was the first time he understood exactly what he was in store for in the tournament. It’s one thing to have an idea of what you’re getting into. It’s another to see the best up close. At first, I thought that Dunk was going to have second thoughts. Instead, it looked like the anxiety motivated him even more.

What to expect in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 3

It's pretty clear that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms can accomplish a lot in a short space of time. When I first clicked on the series, the first thing I noticed was the runtime. Normally, episodes from the Game of Thrones universe are anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour (that's not including the credits), but episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are a little over 33 minutes, including the credits. What does that mean? It shows that the creative team understands that, sometimes, less is better. That means, don’t expect to be given episodes with unnecessary dialogue, and that you’ll have to pay attention to every moment.

Like episode 2 began with a bit of backstory on Ser Arlan of Pennytree, episode 3 should start with some of Egg’s origin (it helps that this episode is titled "The Squire"). If you know the lore (or looked it up), you know the importance of Egg's story. Hopefully, we’ll get a full explanation on why he ran away from home. We'll have to wait and see how things play out in the show and just how much will be adapted from the source material.

Dunk hasn’t had any action scenes yet, and that will likely change since episode 3 is the halfway mark of the season. That means this is when we should see Dunk’s mettle in battle. And while A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has a lot of moments where he looks foolish, I don’t think this will be a calamitous time for Ser Duncan the Tall. At the very least, the episode will likely end with him victorious after taking a defeat.
