It's been over six months since Agatha Harkness once again bewitched us with her presence. Kathryn Hahn's diabolically fun witch returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in WandaVision spinoff series Agatha All Along during spooky season last year and it was a beacon of hope during a relatively dark period for the MCU.

The show received rave reviews from critics and fans, while also introducing the world of Marvel to new audiences as its funny and yet horror-driven presentation allowed it to appeal to fans of both the comedy and horror genres. It also appealed to witch fans, who assembled to watch the nine-episode series alongside the MCU's core fanbase, ensuring that it became one of Disney Plus' biggest hits of last year and one of Marvel's biggest success stories in recent memory.

It has also received a ton of awards buzz, earning itself some prestigious nominations along the way. Now, six months on, it can add another win to its record.

Agatha All Along wins Outstanding New Series at the GLAAD Media Awards

Agatha All Along has won the Outstanding New Series award at the 2025 GLAAD Media Awards. The ceremony, which celebrates the portrayal of LGBTQ+ people in the media and the issues that affect their lives, honored the MCU series with the award. Stars Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, and Sasheer Zamata, along with showrunner Jac Schaeffer, were there in person to accept.

Schaeffer thanked fans for their support of the show, saying that the only thing more powerful than a witch is a coven of witches, and that's certainly a theme that Agatha All Along explored. Although the show was centered on Kathryn Hahn's chaotic witch, it was an ensemble series that also gave the spotlight to the unlikely coven she assembled to walk The Witches' Road.

Agatha was also unapologetically queer and diverse, with much of the praise it received highlighting its focus on women and same-sex relationships. Billy Maximoff, a.k.a. Wiccan, was one of the MCU's first openly gay characters and he also had the franchise's second-ever male/male kiss (shared with his boyfriend Eddie). Agatha herself also made history, as she was involved in the franchise's first ever kiss between two women (which she shared with Aubrey Plaza's Rio Vidal, a.k.a. Death).

Speaking of Billy Maximoff, that wasn't the only award that actor Joe Locke received on the night as his other show, Netflix's Heartstopper, earned the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Kids and Family Program (Live Action). Locke himself received plenty of praise in the fall of 2024 for his incredible dramatic performance as Charlie Spring in that show's third season, all while captivating Marvel fans in Agatha All Along at the same time.

Like parent series WandaVision, Agatha has broken through the metaphorical glass ceiling that almost all superhero/comic book projects face (and struggle with) by receiving some serious awards recognition. Hahn was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role as Agatha Harkness, while Patti LuPone was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for her supporting performance as Lilia Calderu and Joe Locke was nominated for Best Young Performer at the Saturn Awards. The show actually won the Saturn Award for Best Superhero TV Show while Aubrey Plaza won Favorite TV Performance at the Queerties. It's also eligible for some Emmy nominations down the line.

Six months on, the impact of Agatha All Along continues to be felt. The show was a game-changer and we couldn't be happier to see it constantly receive the love and appreciation that it deserves.
