When it comes to talented young actresses in Hollywood, Millie Bobby Brown is undoubtedly on most directors’ shortlists to play various roles from the young ingenue to a strong heroine who can save herself from a revenge-driven dragon in Damsel. As such, Brown has been flexing her action-adventure heroine muscles since 2016 as “El” in the sci-fi horror series Stranger Things.

Now it seems, according to The Direct, that the directing bro-duo team of Joe and Anthony Russo may be considering Brown for an upcoming role in Phase 6 of MCU, in Avengers: Doomsday - which will also be the debut of Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Doom. The Russo brothers are certainly confident in Brown as they have previously cast her as Michelle with her co-star Chris Pratt in the movie version of The Electric State from the acclaimed illustrated novel of the same name by Swedish artist Simon Stalenhag.

With the X-Men finally joining the MCU in Phase 6, and Brown’s Stranger Things co-star Sadie Sink being cast as Jean Grey in the upcoming Spider-Man 4, the speculation as to what character Brown could play in Doomsday has the rumor mill circling on the possibility of Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) or Rogue.

Because we’ve already seen Kitty and Rogue’s characters portrayed in several previous X-Men movies, I would challenge the Russo brothers to give Brown a Marvel X-Men character we haven’t seen on a movie screen before to give her an acting opportunity to develop a character all her own. I'd love to see the Russo Brother cast Brown as Polaris (Lorna Dane).

Polaris is a powerful X-Men with the mutant ability to manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum, similar to her Omega-level mutant father Magneto. Polaris would be a rich and well-developed character for the 21-year-old seasoned actress to play. Millie would have a lot to work with in portraying Polaris from her [Polaris] issues with her father to her mental health to her bouts of being a villain as the leader of The Marauders when she was possessed by the non-corporeal psionic entity Malice (The Uncanny X-Men #219).

Whatever MCU role the Russo brothers deem right for Brown would be well anticipated and applauded by her fans worldwide. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Russo brothers indicated that “Brown is on the list for every project…you can’t ask for a bigger star…she has characters in her audiences can’t even guess at yet.”

Notwithstanding the wildly successful Russo brothers directing prowess in Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity Wars - I suspect an MCU role in Doomsday for Brown is more than likely to occur, given her Stranger Things fan following and her obvious talent for playing strong, independent and complicated heroines. Here's to the Russo brothers earning another $2B blockbuster in Avengers: Doomsday!
