One of the greatest perks of a Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover is watching many different and unlikely characters interact with each other on the big screen. Who would've thought we'd live to see the day when three live-action variants of Spider-Man would cross paths? And we can't forget that time the Guardians of the Galaxy briefly came at odds with Earth's Mightiest Heroes before joining forces to stop Thanos. But for as great as these moments have been, they're nothing compared to the ones to come.
We're less than a year away from the release of Avengers: Doomsday — a movie that promises to be the biggest MCU project to date. Its initial casting announcement revealed that the Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and many other iconic heroes are coming together to face off against their biggest threat yet in the form of Doctor Doom. And while 27 different characters are confirmed to appear in the movie, more are still waiting to be revealed as confirmed by Kevin Feige himself.
With so many heroes and villains taking the spotlight, fans have wondered what types of jaw-dropping interactions or fights we'll see once the movie releases. Fortunately, we finally have a hint of what's to come.

Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly feature a fight between Magneto and Doom
According to superhero insider, MyTimeToShineHello, Marvel is currently filming a fight scene between Magneto and Doctor Doom for Avengers: Doomsday. Talk about an immovable object versus an unstoppable force. Both characters are considered two of the most powerful Marvel villains ever, which hopefully means we're in for a spectacle of epic proportions. On the bright side, we don't have to wait until 2026 to learn who will come out victorious.
Victor Von Doom and Magneto have faced many times before in comic book pages, and the scale usually tips in favor of the former. During Super-Villain Team-Up (1975) No. 14, Doom uses neurocanisters to force the powerful mutant to kneel and almost kill himself with his own magnetic powers. Furthermore, in X-Men/Dr. Doom Annual (1998) No. 1, it's revealed that the Ruler of Latveria devised a forcefield that makes him impervious to Magneto's powers. In both of these instances, it's thanks to Victor's meticulous planning and inventions that he came out victorious, so what would happen in a battle of just pure strength?
In Avengers: The Children's Crusade (2010) No. 5, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Magneto try to hold Doom back while Wiccan and the Scarlet Witch attempt to escape Latveria. While Wanda does manage to get away, it took the combined forces of four powerful Marvel characters just to buy a bit of time (let alone defeat him). Needless to say, it wouldn't be shocking to see the Ruler of Latveria defeat any Mutant that comes his way, which could mean very bad news for Ian McKellen's Erik Lehnsherr.
It's a common storytelling trope to position a newly-introduced villain as a force to be reckoned with by having them defeat an already-established foe. The superhero genre alone is riddled with many of these examples. The opening minutes of Avengers: Infinity War saw Thanos relentlessly snap Loki's neck, while Venom bit off Kraven's head in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 just moments after his symbiotic introduction. So there's a chance that history will repeat itself yet again in Avengers: Doomsday.
While it's exciting to know many iconic characters from the Fox era will make a comeback, we can't expect every single one to make it out alive in a movie that will have higher stakes than Infinity War or Endgame. Maybe there's a (heartbreaking) scenario where Victor takes down Magneto to establish himself as the big threat moving forward, as well as a sworn enemy of the mutant kind. Hopefully, the Russo Brothers will craft an epic and heartfelt farewell for all of those heroes or villains who'll make their last Marvel appearance.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on May 1, 2026.
