Kathryn Hahn is a veteran of the Hollywood landscape, entertaining us beyond belief for the past two decades but there has never been a better time to be a fan of the legendary actress. From joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe to appearing in critically-acclaimed TV series after critically-acclaimed TV series, the "Hahnissance" is alive and well. That couldn't be truer than it is right now.
Apple TV+ has announced that they have renewed The Studio for a second season. The show premiered in March to rave reviews and it features a star-studded cast, including Kathryn Hahn herself, as well as Seth Rogen, Ike Barinholtz, Catherine O'Hara, Chase Sui Wonders and Bryan Cranston. It also features a host of familiar guest stars, including Martin Scorcsese.
Rogen and fellow creator Evan Goldberg shared a joint statement celebraring the renewal:
"We’re thrilled to be making a second season of ‘The Studio.’ We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two, then repeating that loop for ten more seasons... And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+."
Hahn's performance in the series as Maya Mason has been praised by both audiences and critics, with some outlets already predicting that she might earn herself a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Emmy Awards this year. She also stands a chance of earning a Lead Actress nomination for her work as Agatha Harkness in Disney Plus' critically-acclaimed Marvel series Agatha All Along.
Agatha first debuted in Disney Plus' WandaVision three years prior, masquerading as Agnes, the friendly neighbor of the Scarlet Witch Wanda Maximoff. But when she revealed that she was secretly an ancient witch, she became an internet sensation, with fans calling for more from her. Hahn's delicious performance earned her an Emmy nomination in 2021 - something we're all hoping will happen again at the Emmys this year.
The question is: Will Agatha also receive a second season like The Studio? The MCU show was a huge success for both Disney Plus and Marvel Studios last year, with rumors suggesting that a second season or sequel series is quietly in the works. Whatever the case, more of Kathryn Hahn on our screens is undoubtedly a good thing.
