Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus No. 4 was one of the best new comic books of last week. That’s saying a lot since Bug Wars: The Spyder Wytch Special No. 1, Batman No. 6, and the premier issue of Magik and Colossus were among the new comic books to come out during this period. Yet again, our top ten must-read list was difficult to compile this week as there were so many great new issues being published.
Because there were so many great titles, let us give some quick Honorable Mentions to Deniz Camp’s Bleeding Hearts and Alex Paknadel’s Cyclops - two series I recommend checking out).
With all of that being said, here are ourTop 10 must-read new comic books from last week.
Absolute Wonder Woman 2026 Annual No. 1
- Writer: Kelly Thompson
- Artist: Mattia De Iulis
Watching Diana plead with the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena, to help Medusa was beautiful. Even before that, seeing all of her deeds worldwide was awesome. This entire issue was a perfect representation of the kindness, willingness to sacrifice her well-being, and courage that Wonder Woman is renowned for.
Before compiling this list, I knew that Absolute Wonder Woman 2026 Annual would earn a spot on it. Between the artist and the writer, it was clearly going to be a banger, and I was right.
Space Ghost (Vol. 2) No. 8
- Writer: David Peopse
- Artist: Jonathan Lau
- Colors: Andrew Dalhouse
Before this issue was released, writer David Pepose warned readers that a character was going to die in it. Despite the heads up, I still wasn’t ready for what I read. To say it caught readers off-guard would be an understatement.
This was easily the best issue of Space Ghost so far, and the series has been a must-read since it began.
Planet She-Hulk No. 4
- Writer: Stephanie Phillips
- Artist: Emilio Laiso
- Colors: Fabi Marques
Some comic books start and, before their first arc is done, you don’t want the series to end. That’s what this issue of Planet She-Hulk felt like. Every issue has been fantastic, but this was something special. Not because of the fighting (which was great). It was the way Stephanie Phillips has Jennifer and Juno discuss what it’s like to not be able to express feelings when you’re not allowed to.
Blood and Thunder No. 10
- Writer: Benito Cereno
- Artist: E. J. Su
- Colors: Michele Assarasakorn
From mystery within the characters to cliffhangers at the end of the issues, Blood and Thunder will keep you on the edges of your seats right to the very end, wanting more the whole time. In this case, just as readers learn more about Akeldama’s past, the issue ends. But not only does it conclude, but it happens right as you meet another character to despise.
Sirens: Love Hurts No. 1
- Writer: Tini Howard
- Artists: Babs Tarr
- Colors: Miquel Muerto
Tini Howard (Assassinistas and Excalibur) writing a Sirens series was always going to rock. Adding Babs Tarr (Batgirl) to the mix ensured that this story is something everyone should pick up. It was fun, showed that everyone on the team is brilliant, and the story is a mystery on top of it all. And this is only book one!
Sirens: Love Hurts could be the most entertaining series of 2026. Yes, it's only February but all signs point towards this being a special one!
Wade Wilson: Deadpool No. 1
- Writer: Benjamin Percy
- Artist: Geoff Shaw
- Colors: Alex Sinclair
As someone who’s read all of Deadpool’s ongoing series, I can say with confidence that this will be one of The Merc With A Mouth's darkest stories yet. It's not just what he’s doing to himself, either. The reason why is going to break the hearts of every Wade Wilson fan.
This is an emotional one from Marvel Comics and it's just getting started.
DC K.O. No. 4
- Writers: Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson
- Artists: Javier Fernández and Xermánico
- Colors: Alejandro Sánchez
Writers Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson said that there would be surprises in this crossover, and they’ve lived up to that statement. This issue gave readers laughs, smiles, and some payback that people have waited for since DC K.O. No. 1. It was a brilliant lead-up to the final issue.
Marc Spector: Moon Knight No. 1
- Writer: Jed MacKay
- Artist: Dev Pramanik
- Colors: Rachelle Rosenberg
Jed MacKay’s build to the final few pages of Marc Spector: Moon Knight No. 1 was pulled off flawlessly. It started odd, with Marc Spector being weak, but the reasoning made sense. Then, the story slowly picked up and ended spectacularly with the strangest team-up in Moon Knight history.
Considering who the Lunar Legionnaire has been on teams with in the past, that says a lot.
Green Lanterns Corps No. 13
- Writer: Morgan Hampton
- Artist: Juan José Ryp
- Colors: Chris Sotomayor, Jão Canola, Matt Herms, Ian Herring, Arif Prianto, Hi-Fi
Morgan Hampton’s Green Lantern Corps has combined everything a Green Lantern fan loves, making it the perfect read for long-time fans. But it is also perfect for newer readers to understand the powers of the Emotional Spectrum in a simple way. For example, this issue explained the Compassion ring’s abilities after Yrra Cynril’s trauma and pain turned into compassion. It's always nice to see characters get a redemption arc in a way that makes sense.
