People need to stop messing with Wilson Fisk. Just because he’s the Mayor of New York City doesn’t mean the gangster in him has disappeared. He was “never out of the game,” as Luca said in episode 6 of Daredevil: Born Again. Fisk shows viewers how true this is when he gives Adam an axe and makes him fight for his life. It doesn’t work out well for Vanessa’s former lover, as the Kingpin beats him with his bare hands.

Meanwhile, Matt Murdock puts on the Daredevil suit to save White Tiger’s niece, Angela Del Toro, from a serial killer named Muse. This was the first time viewers saw Matt in his vigilante costume since episode 1 and he didn’t miss a beat. He took the punishment and dished it back out, defeating Muse and saving Angela. Now that the “rust” has been dusted off, it’s time for The Man Without Fear to avoid a police task force created to take him out.

As a comic book fan, it’s great to see that the creative team for Daredevil: Born Again is keeping some things from the comic. For example, Muse’s murals and the scene when two girls approached him while he was creating his “art.” It may not have been the exact moment (Muse was creepier in the comics), but it was still well done.

What to expect in episode 7

The biggest storyline to watch out for in this week's episode of Daredevil: Born Again is Mayor Fisk’s Anti-Vigilante Task Force. The people assigned to thwart vigilantism are police officers with histories of aggressive behavior that borderline (and surpassed) what was legal and necessary. Among them is a character from Marvel Comics named Cole North. Who could end up having a change of heart about Daredevil as the series continues.

Cherry warned Matt not to get involved in the Muse situation, but Angela being kidnapped forced his hand. When Cherry realizes why Matt put the costume back on, he’ll understand but warn Matt what’s coming. At this point, Matt will tell Cherry about the officers with Punisher tattoos and engraving the logo on bullet casings. How things go from there will be interesting.

Now that he’s back in the red costume, things will begin to get worse for Matt and everyone around him. He will start to show up with mysterious cuts and bruises and arrive late to the office and court. Kirsten McDuffie is already suspicious of Matt after Angela showed up at the Murdock and McDuffie Law Office. Kirsten will likely, eventually start putting things together and realize he’s Daredevil; look for that to happen sooner rather than later.

Lastly, Wilson Fisk is starting to fall back into old habits. Fighting Adam and raising Luca’s percentage are things that the Kingpin does, not the Mayor of New York. He’s also starting to broaden out again, which could be because he knows a fight is coming. Either way, everything going on with Wilson (big or small) is noteworthy as we approach the end of the season.
