After a year of waiting, we finally dove back into the corrupt, dark, and twisted streets of Hell's Kitchen, where no one is truly safe. Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 1 is finally here, and it wastes no time in getting us up to date on what Matt Murdock, Karen Page, Wilson Fisk, and other street-level characters have been up to since we last saw them. While Fisk's fake propaganda may lead you to believe New York is safer than ever, that is far from the truth, and the ending of the first episode proved that.
See, a boat filled with an arsenal of military-grade weapons named Northern Star was sunk in the second season's opening, and now Fisk is going after the ship's captain and first mate to ensure they can't divulge any information about its cargo. Incidentally, former detective Cherry is also trying to locate these potential witnesses and get them somewhere safe. However, this puts him at odds with Fisk, who sends his Anti-Vigilante Task Force to deal with the whole situation.
Just as Fisk's henchmen intercept Cherry and start to interrogate him (in a very violent manner), Daredevil enters the scene and starts doing what he does best: protecting the innocent. Unfortunately, a brief distraction is enough for Matt to lose his focus and rapidly get overpowered. To make matters worse, the Anti-Vigilante Task Force unmasked the Devil of Hell's Kitchen and discovered his true identity. But just when it seems it is the end of the road for the Man Without Fear, Bullseye quickly neutralizes every corrupt cop in the room, and that gives us a pretty good idea of where episode 2 is heading.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 2 might show more about Bullseye's "redemption" arc
Ever since his introduction in the third season of the Netflix series, Bullseye has become a recurring character in the two Daredevil shows. Benjamin Poindexter wasn't an inherently evil man initially; he just needed a north star to guide him. Unfortunately, Wilson Fisk became his mentor, and that alone was enough to send Bullseye down a dark and twisted path.
When Benjamin Poindexter finally figured out that he was being manipulated, he decided to get his revenge and attempt to assassinate Fisk (twice, in fact). However, now that he's finally a man free from the devil's grasp, he will look to undergo a big redemption arc. But before you start to worry that Marvel might turn one of its most iconic villains into an anti-hero, it's worth noting that Bullseye's idea of redemption will be flawed to begin with.

As we dive further into Daredevil: Born Again season 2, chances are that we'll learn more about Benjamin's motivations and how he will try to make up for his past, as revealed by Wilson Bethel himself (via The Direct):
"Where we find him at the beginning of Season 2 is with a renewed sense of purpose. He has a guiding light and what he perceives to be a redemption arc for himself. He’s a little misguided in his idea of what redemption looks like, but strictly from Dex’s perspective, this is his version of redemption."
Multiple Daredevil: Born Again season 2 teasers and TV spots have given us a glimpse of a dinner fight scene, where Bullseye will neutralize many members of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Could that scene be featured in the second episode? Furthermore, we might also get to learn more about Mr. Charles' mysterious character, who is implied to be working for the CIA and, more specifically, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

Many characters from the Netflix series are also bound to make a comeback, including Jessica Jones and Brett Mahoney. While the former is unlikely to appear in episode 2 (since it is way too soon), the latter could very well make his long-awaited reintroduction. Furthermore, we could learn about Heather Glenn's new mysterious role in the series. Fans have gone as far as theorizing that she'll become the new Muse, and episode could double down on that idea.
Fortunately, episodes 2 and 3 of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will be dropped at once, which means there's plenty more Matt Murdock coming our way soon (and we wouldn't want it any other way).
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
