Excitement is at an all-time high for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, and with good reason. Early previews indicate we're about to witness a fantastic Marvel Cinematic Universe show that will seemingly reach the heights of its Netflix predecessor. Furthermore, we're just days away from discovering what Matt Murdock and Karen Page have been up to ever since they went undercover to escape the Kingpin's reach. But while the Devil's adventure has yet to start, it's already time to look at what lies ahead.
Daredevil: Born Again was officially renewed for a third season, and filming started back on March 19. If season 2 is set to feature the return of big Marvel Netflix characters such as Jessica Jones and Brett Mahoney, what surprises may await in season 3? While any official cast announcements are still a long way off, new social media posts might suggest that legendary characters from a previous superhero era might make their return.
New social media posts ignite speculation that Elektra and Iron Fist could appear in Daredevil: Born Again season 3
Is it too early to call it a comeback? Élodie Yung, known for portraying the role of Elektra in Netflix's Daredevil, posted a picture of herself training on social media. The timing seems very suspicious, especially since Daredevil: Born Again season 3 just started filming, and she could very well be part of it. This small tease was enough for many fans to flood the post's comment section with GIFs of Elektra, to which Élodie replied: "Ooooh You guys really want my Elektra back. I love it."
Elektra's fate has been a big mystery in the MCU for many years now. Last time audiences saw her, an entire building collapsed on her and Matt Murdock in the finale of The Defenders. But while the Devil of Hell's Kitchen quickly jumped back into action, Elektra's whereabouts remain unknown. However, now that The Hand will make a return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (and will reportedly appear in Born Again Season 2), it seems very likely that Elektra will be addressed in one way or another.
To add more fuel to the fire, Iron Fist actor Finn Jones also posted a picture of himself training in New York. Incidentally, Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is also filming in New York, so there's a chance that Danny Rand will be part of it.
Many sources had previously reported that the entirety of The Defenders will come together by the end of Born Again season 2, which would follow up on the idea of Matt Murdock wanting to build an army to defeat the Kingpin of crime. However, there could be a chance that characters like Danny Rand and Luke Cage will have reduced roles in this upcoming batch of episodes, and it won't be until season 3 that they truly steal the spotlight.
Based on early previews, it seems Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will embrace the past and double down on the connections to the Netflix series, especially towards its latter half. With that in mind, it seems likely that season 3 will follow that very same route, explaining all the possible returns. Fortunately, Marvel aims to have yearly releases of its hit street-level series, which means it won't be long before casting announcements about Born Again season 3 come our way. Better yet, we're just a few days away from witnessing what Season 2 has to offer.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premieres March 24, 2026, on Disney+.
