While Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is a fantastic piece of television for many different reasons, it's hard to deny that one of its absolute highlights is Wilson Bethel's Bullseye. Benjamin Poindexter stole the spotlight for himself and never let go of it. Audiences watched him decimate no shortage of members from the Anti-Vigilante Task Force with forks, knives, and even lobsters. And while Ben wanted to become a better man by doing one good deed, he is now set on a path that could make him more lethal than ever before.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 culminated with Matthew Lillard's Mr. Charles recruiting Benjamin for an unknown mission. While the jury is still out on who Bullseye's next targets will be, there are three things we know for sure. First, he will have more resources than ever before, as the villain will be backed by the CIA. Second, he found the wrong "North Star" in Mr. Charles, who could prove to be a big threat to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. Last but certainly not least, we know Bullseye will get a brand new look that's sure to make fans excited.
Bullseye will have a comic-accurate suit in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3
It only took four seasons of television (including that final season of the Netflix show), but Benjamin Poindexter will finally get to wear a comic-book-accurate suit, as revealed by pictures taken directly from the set of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3.
This new Bullseye costume seems to be the perfect mix of the one seen in the latest Marvel Ultimate Universe and the one used in Earth-616. It has the iconic blue and black color palette, along with the white circular stripes around the neck that form a bullseye. Furthermore, different set pictures showcase the villain's gloves, which have white padding.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the whole attire is Ben's new helmet. It has completely white eyes, similar to Daredevil's cowl (except the latter has red eyes). We can also see the white bullseye logo on the forehead, and if you look really closely, you'll notice it has an embedded camera right at the very center.
Superhero insider Alex Perez pointed out the parallels between Bullseye's new helmet and the one used by Taskmaster. Both have a hidden camera in them that is likely used by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine to see every move of her agents. After all, the opening episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 made it very clear that Mr. Charles works for Valentina. And since Bullseye was recruited by Mr. Charles, it isn't hard to know who the villain's new boss truly is.
Alex Perez also reposted a tweet that says, "What if they set up the Dark Avengers somehow with this?" This could be a tease of an upcoming storyline in the MCU. After the events of Thunderbolts*, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that Valentina learned that having a group of super-powered individuals working for her would be much more effective than sending all her agents on separate missions, like she used to do.
The former members of the Thunderbolts have now turned into the New Avengers, a big group of heroes that will be at the center of public scrutiny. Valentina no longer controls this ensemble, and she certainly can't send them on undercover missions across the globe. So all signs indicate that she will build a new group of talented individuals, which is set to include Bullseye.
Wilson Bethel has openly talked about how he'd like to see Bullseye face the likes of The Punisher, Hawkeye, and Spider-Man, which would mean crossing into other areas of the larger MCU. If the iconic villain were to be part of a larger supervillain group, then chances are that Daredevil alone wouldn't be enough to stop them. Other heroes could come into the mix, and with the reports that Marvel intends to create a big street-level crossover movie, who better than the Dark Avengers to act as the main antagonists?
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Bullseye. For the time being, the one thing that is absolutely certain is that the character will have a new comic-accurate costume, and we couldn't be any more excited.
