Nelson & Murdock might be no more with Foggy Nelson’s death in Daredevil: Born Again, but Charlie Cox and Elden Henson gave fans the next best thing with the two reuniting at C2E2 for the Daredevil: Born Again panel on Saturday.
The fan-favorite Daredevil duo joined Krysten Ritter and Wilson Bethel to talk all things Daredevil: Born Again season 2 and answer fan questions. One fan’s questions led Henson and Cox to ponder how Foggy’s story could continue — even if the character is dead.

Foggy Nelson, attorney at law to angel of guidance?
A fan at C2E2’s Daredevil: Born Again panel asked the cast about what they’d like to see their respective characters go through moving forward. Henson had fun with his answer, but it was also one that Marvel could realistically implement without backtracking on Foggy Nelson’s death.
“I think it’d be cool if Foggy became an angel and had wings and would just fly around,” Henson said. “Be there but not really be there. Just kind of watching over Matt. Be like, ‘I love you, man. Don’t get hurt! Duck! Stick and move! Stick and move!’”
Henson’s Foggy will be in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 but has yet to appear three episodes in. With his death in the series premiere, the implication is that Foggy will be featured in flashback scenes. Clips of Foggy from Daredevil: Born Again also support the idea, as Henson’s appearance looks similar to his character in the original Daredevil series.
Foggy being an angel would be a creative and intriguing concept to explore. Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 1, "The Northern Star,” shows how Matt Murdock is still very affected by Foggy’s death. Being in the vicinity of Cherry while he was having a heart attack triggered Matt’s trauma and made him think about when Foggy died. When Foggy was alive, he always tried to be a voice of reason for Matt and did whatever he could to look out for him. So it’d be interesting to see Foggy do the same as a guardian angel type of figure.

How Charlie Cox would want Foggy Nelson to be resurrected
Cox joined in on the question, but he didn’t offer an idea for his own character. He followed up Henson’s answer with a suggestion for how to bring Foggy back into the Daredevil narrative.
“I think Foggy should be resurrected by Elektra, and then he takes over leadership of the Hand,” Cox said.
Though compelling, Cox’s idea relies on the notion that Elektra is alive and the Hand is still going. Neither one is out of the question. After all, the Hand resurrected Elektra so she could be its leader, but their current statuses in the MCU aren’t clear one way or the other. The Hand was last seen in The Defenders, taken out by the group of heroes, with Elektra and Daredevil sacrificing themselves to ensure victory. Matt, of course, made it out alive. Whether Elektra is also alive or The Hand is still running somewhere is unknown, but both are plausible.
Many people have theorized that The Hand is featured in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer and that Daredevil was edited out of it, but there’s no official confirmation or denial of either yet.
Nevertheless, even if Cox’s idea for Foggy’s resurrection would require more effort to implement, it would be a great way to bring classic Daredevil characters back into the narrative and tie back to the original series.
