It's been over 10 years since the last time audiences had the chance to play as the Caped Crusader in a multi-platform video game. Since the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, titles like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League have come our way, but none of them have really scratched the itch that the Arkham franchise left in all of us. But at long last, a new candidate may step up to the occasion and take the crown for itself.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is not only the spiritual successor to Rocksteady's acclaimed franchise, but it also pays homage to the hero's story across TV, movies, comic books, and video games. This is a love letter to DC's most iconic character, filled with tons of side activities, collectibles, playable characters, customization options, and more. And with that in mind, it's almost time to dive into TT Games' upcoming adventure, so here are the release times of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight by time zones and platforms.

It's important to keep in mind that you'll need a bit of a monster PC if you want to play LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight in 4k and 60 fps. As has been the case with titles developed in Unreal Engine 5, the official spec requirements have sparked controversy due to how poorly optimized the game appears to be. Needing 24 GB of RAM and 12 GB of VRAM to play the game in upscaled 4k is a little excessive. With these requirements in mind, it comes as no surprise that Switch 2 users will have to wait a little longer to become the Caped Crusader.
Fortunately, there's one saving grace. Early Steam reviews state that the specs sheet released by TT Games was not accurate and that the game runs very smoothly even on lower specs than suggested. However, it's best to remain cautious until the title's official release and wait until more people get to play it to determine whether those claims are true.
The Dark Knight's upcoming adventure won't arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 (yet)
The official FAQ page for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight reiterates that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is indeed in the works, but its release will be announced at a later date. Knowing the PC requirements, it isn't far-fetched to assume that the developers need a bit more time to optimize the game and ensure it runs smoothly on a handheld console.
With Summer Game Fest just around the corner, it would be the perfect time for TT Games and Warner Bros to give us an exact release date for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on the Switch 2, even if it is much later down the year. However, one thing is for certain: Justice is coming for everyone, regardless of their console of choice.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a love letter to the character (and has more depth than any other LEGO game before)
Having played over 10 hours of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (at the time of writing this), it's clear this is a very ambitious title that takes cues from the Batman: Arkham Saga while also adding its own unique flavor into the mix. Every chapter pays homage to a unique project under the Caped Crusader's belt. You can go from (mostly) re-enacting the events of Matt Reeves' The Batman in one chapter to re-experiencing sequences seen in Tim Burton's Batman (1989) in another.
Despite taking inspiration from multiple projects, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight tells a single, cohesive, and original story that will have you smiling from ear to ear due to the sheer amount of references and funny moments the LEGO games are known for. Whenever you're not completing the main campaign, you'll be spending time in a beautiful rendition of Gotham City that's packed with side activities and Easter eggs for the most hardcore of fans to find.
The game currently sits at a score of 84 on Metacritic, and some gaming outlets have already claimed it is a Game of the Year contender. Fortunately, the wait for another third-person Batman game after Arkham Knight proved to be worth it.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on May 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Switch 2 port will be coming at a later, unannounced date.
