The world is talking about Superman and Lois Lane once again as James Gunn's Superman movie arrives in theaters. It's the duo's first time on the big screen in nearly a decade, so anticipation has been high for the first film in DC Studios' long-awaited DC Universe. That said, the legendary duo have been thrilling audiences for years on the small screen in The CW's Superman and Lois, which just wrapped its four-season run last year.
Starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the titular pair, Superman and Lois received a lot of praise throughout its run for highlighting the importance of the duo's partnership, and spotlighting their lives as parents as well as superheroes. Although underappreciated early on in its run, its now widely regarded as one of the best portrayals of their story. And it's all deserved, for the Arrowverse-adjacent series is truly something special.
Elizabeth Tulloch reflected on the show's legacy as she chatted to us about her new partnership with Milk-Bone ahead of Gunn's Superman movie, as well as that Krypto cameo in the show's final season.
Elizabeth Tulloch's Milk-Bone partnership treats dogs to a special Superman screening
Elizabeth Tulloch partnered with Milk-Bone ahead of DC Universe movie Superman to host a special LA screening for dogs. She attended the event with her own dog Marvin as they saw the film for the first time. Milk-Bone treats are Marvin's favorite for training, Tulloch told us when we chatted to her ahead of the screening, as she looked forward to all of the dogs getting excited whenever Krypto the Superdog appears on-screen.
Tulloch and her husband David Guintoli's previous dog Henry was a French bulldog who passed away in 2020 and she reveals that it took her five years to open her heart to another dog. They rescued Marvin earlier this year, bringing him home in March - which Tulloch describes as a really poignant moment as it was five years to the month they lost Henry.
As a dog lover, she describes this new partnership with Milk-Bone as having worked out perfectly due to Marvin being such a fan:
"I don't really believe in promoting products that I don't use or know but Milk-Bone happen to be Marvin's favorite training treats... it's like one of those things: When you think of tissues, you think Kleenex, when you think of bandage you think Band-Aid, and when you think dog treat you think Milk-Bone."

The Superman and Lois star attended the Milk-Bone screening on Thursday July 10 (the same day that Superman previews launched), and she was joined by plenty of furry friends. Over 40 dogs attended the event, along with over 100 people as Milk-Bone brought them all got together to celebrate the Dog of Steel's DCU debut. Milk-Bone is also donating 40 dog beds and bowls to a local animal shelter.
Krypto has a big role to play in the new film, as he's one of star David Corenswet's biggest scene-partners. The trailers teased as much, showcasing him playfully trying to get the Man of Steel to jump around with him in spite of the fact that he's injured. And the beloved dog is one of the biggest selling-points of the movie, for DC fans are excited to see him play such a major role in his first ever appearance in a Superman movie.
He also made his Superman and Lois debut last year, appearing in the series finale's closing moments in a scene in which Clark Kent adopted him for company in his older years. Tulloch told us that she was glad that the show got to introduce a Krypto of their very own before it concluded, adding that she was "bummed" that she didn't get to work with the dog personally as it was extremely friendly and funny... even when they were trying to shoot a serious scene:
"They were shooting a scene where Clark has the heart attack and falls to the ground in Smallville, it was very hard for them to get the golden retriever on-screen because the dog just kept pouncing on Tyler and slobbering all over him!"
Krypto's arrival on Superman and Lois season 4 certainly made a lot of DC fans smile (myself included) and the same can be said for his DC Universe debut in James Gunn's Superman.
