When you ask superhero fans what their favorite Spider-Man movie is, chances are you'll hear the name "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" a lot. If not, maybe its sequel, "Across the Spider-Verse", is mentioned even more. With two incredibly successful animated movies under its belt, Sony is looking to close its acclaimed saga with a bang with the release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. We've waited a lot to see how Miles Morales' journey on the big screen concludes, and that day is nearly here.

Mark your calendars, because we have a date with the wall-crawler on Jun. 18, 2027. With just a little over a year to go, Sony is finally pulling the curtain on its highly ambitious movie, and CinemaCon 2026 was the ideal place to show fans more about what's to come. After Tom Holland took over the stage to present a clip of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it was time for Miles Morales to steal the spotlight. Fortunately, he did not disappoint.

Every Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse reveal at CinemaCon 2026

Sony pulled no punches, as it showed the opening sequence of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse to everyone in attendance at its panel. Unfortunately, the footage didn't make its way online, but we have a description to go by:

Things kick off moments after Across the Spider-Verse culminates. Miles finds himself in a parallel universe where his doppelganger adopted the Prowler persona. The two share some banter before our version of Miles tries to explain his current situation and how he ended up in such a place in the first place. Unfortunately, the alternate version of Miles and his uncle, Aaron Davis, doesn't seem to care for anything he has to say. As such, our protagonist decides to take matters into his own hands and breaks free from his chains with his lightning powers.

The footage then showcases this alternate version of Aaron Davis and his brother, Jefferson Davis, committing crimes in the past. This sequence features a retro-looking aesthetic, which shouldn't be surprising considering every character seems to have their own distinct look now. It appears we're exploring a "What If" scenario that will showcase what would've happened if Jefferson hadn't turned into a cop and followed in his brother's footsteps instead.

Additional clips were shown of Gwen Stacy crossing an interdimensional bridge, Spider-Man 2099 standing in front of many opening portals, multiple Spider-Men swinging against a neon cityscape as a backdrop, and The Spot saying, "I just wanted to be taken seriously" before "draining the life out of everything around him."

If you're disappointed the film's opening wasn't posted online for everyone to see, then we have the next best thing: Official stills. The first image showcases fan-favorite Spider-Punk in his iconic art style, getting ready to save Miles' dad.

Speaking of Jefferson Davis, a multiversal version of him is featured in another image, very next to his brother, Aaron Davis. In Miles' homeworld, Aaron was killed by the Kingpin after working for him under the Prowler persona. So, it will be a bit heartbreaking for Miles to come across a new version of the uncle he already lost.

Another still shows Miles and Miguel O'Hara fighting, much to no one's surprise. The former believes the multiverse as a whole is collapsing because Miles was never supposed to be turned into Spider-Man in the first place. However, Miguel isn't an outright supervillain, so it will be interesting to see how his arc unfolds in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Last, but certainly not least, we also have a picture that showcases the long-awaited reunion between Miles and his true father. Let's just hope that The Spot doesn't interrupt such a charming moment.

It was also confirmed that characters like the Kingpin, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Ham are bound to make a comeback in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Furthermore, producer Chris Miller stated that this will be "the most emotional Spider-Verse movie" ever made (which is awfully similar to the statement Tom Holland made about Spider-Man: Brand New Day). To cap things off, we have a new synopsis of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse:

To cap things off, we have a new synopsis of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse:

"Miles Morales returns for the final chapter of Sony Pictures Animation's Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Hunted by Miguel O’Hara’s Spider Society and betrayed by his friends, Miles finds himself in the darkest corners of the Spider-Verse in search of a way home. Knowing that his family has been not only fractured but endangered by his calling, it’s a race against the clock for Miles to travel across the wildest reaches of time and space to fight for and reunite everything he holds most dear."

While we're still waiting for the first official trailer to come our way, it's nice to know Sony is slowly unveiling more about its upcoming animated project. With a bit of luck, it won't be long before the general public sees footage of Miles' upcoming adventure.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to be released on June 18, 2027.
