Fans in the UK have been enjoying the twenty-third season of long-running series Strictly Come Dancing immensely. The beloved program has thrilled audiences this year, in what has been revealed to be the final outing for veteran presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.And there have been a lot of classic routines this year, with Lewis and Katya's Charleston, Balvinder and Julian's Couples Choice, and Amber and Nikita's Jive just this week.
Yes, there is a lot of star power in the competition this year, and all of it was on show this week in the competition's post-Blackpool Week 10. That includes an absolutely bonkers Instant Dance challenge that turned the Leaderboard on its head quite a bit, resulting in a new leader - so to speak - preventing the two highest-scorers of the night ending up joint-second instead. But as fans wait for the results, there is one star they are heartbroken for.
Arrow veteran Alex Kingston struggles on Strictly Week 10, leaving fans concerned
Arrow star Alex Kingston is one of the celebrities in Strictly Come Dancing this year, and she's been one of the front-runners since the beginning. Partnered with Johannes Radebe, she has delivered some sensational performances throughout the series, including her incredible Week 2 Samba and her stunning Week 8 Waltz. She also scored the first 10 of the series for her delightful Rumba in Week 4, so it's safe to say that she's been a potential finalist since the start - and considering how popular she is with the public, that has always been a real possibility.
Unfortunately, this week's episode saw the DC veteran struggle unexpectedly with her Cha Cha Cha, which opened the show. After getting off on the wrong foot early on, she made a number of mistakes throughout the routine. She powered on and kept picking it back up, which earned her praise from Head Judge Shirley Ballas. But that sadly couldn't prevent her from finishing at the bottom of the Leaderboard, putting her in immediate jeopardy of the Dance-Off (For FULL Strictly Week 10 spoilers and results, read more here).
Meanwhile, she was given the chance to reprise her Rumba in the Instant Dance challenge, earning herself three extra points, but it unfortunately couldn't pull her any further up the Leaderboard due to the lower score earlier on. And that left her at the bottom of the Leaderboard, leaving fans incredibly worried that it might be the end of the road for Alex, who has commented about how her body had been struggling with the consistency of the routines they have had to learn each week.
The Strictly Come Dancing results show is pre-recorded on the Saturday night so DC fans are worried as they await to see if the spoiler will leak out and confirm their fears. Here's hoping that Alex's public vote comes through and allows her to bounce back next week - especially as it's Musicals Week, which the veteran performer will no doubt be amazing in!
Kingston has appeared in many legendary programs over the years, with Doctor Who and ER being among her most recognizable. But to DC fans, she will always be Dinah Lance, the mother of the Black Canary Laurel Lance and the White Canary Sara Lance on Arrow.
