It goes without saying that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The film is the third big-budget attempt to bring Marvel's First Family to the silver screen, but the first to do it set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so audiences are ready for this monumental moment to take place.
The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing as the titular foursome, who will go up against one of their many archenemies from the comics, Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson).
Now, Marvel Studios has unveiled the second trailer for the film, which looks nothing short of, well, fantastic.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer brings the heat (and the villains)
Marvel Studios and Disney has released the second trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps and it's safe to say that it's looking like we're in for a spectacular space-age-like adventure.
This one builds upon what the teaser trailer offered up, showcasing the titular characters in a deeper capacity as we learn more about each of them and the plot of the movie itself. While it obviously borrows from the classic Marvel Comics storyline, there are plenty of unique aspects here that ensure the MCU's adaptation will stand on its own two feet.
Ben Grimm quickly deduces that Sue Storm is pregnant, prompting Johnny Storm to congratulate her and Reed Richards. Though the four heroes are struggling with their newfound fame, there is a sense of hope that their family - and Sue's pregnancy - brings to the table, letting them know that everything is going to be okay.

Seeing more of the Fantastic Four themselves is undoubtedly the highlight of the trailer as it allows us to see the chemistry between each of the cast members, and it's thrilling to see. Johnny is undoubtedly the team's wild card and he has no problem cracking jokes and running his mouth, which is what the character is known for. But he's also known for running his mouth and flying head-on into danger - which is something he gets the opportunity to do in the trailer.
New threats take center stage
The new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps also showcases the first look at Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer. The villain arrives on Earth looking for its protectors so that she can warn them that their Earth has been targeted for termination. This obviously doesn't sit well with the heroes, particularly Johnny who flies into action after her - resulting in him taking a steep drop back down to Earth - literally!

And who has Earth been targetted by? None other than the other infamous Marvel Comics villain in the movie, Galactus. The previous trailer teased the villain's arrival in the form of a large head-shaped shadow appearing over the city - and we once again see that here. But that's not all we see.
The trailer's closing moments showcased the entity's giant feet walking through the city. Obviously, they're holding the actual first look at the villain until the movie itself - which is a very wise choice to build suspense - but this is yet another genius way of teasing something without giving it all away in the trailers.
Speaking of: One of the only criticisms of the previous trailer was that it never showed Reed Richards using his powers, perhaps suggesting that he might not have the character's iconic stretch abilities. Fear not, for the new trailer showed us the moment we were all waiting for, as Pedro Pascal's Mr. Fantastic does indeed stretch his way across falling debris to protect those below.

Needless to say: We're all excited for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and even more so than ever after that truly Fantastic new trailer.
The trailer was released a day after a rumor surfaced online that Disney would be releasing multiple trailers this week, potentially including one for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. It was the MCU fans who got the luckiest, however, as Marvel's Thunderbolts* got a new trailer yesterday too, paving the way for the thrilling First Steps trailer to come the very next day.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is released on July 25, 2025.
