Over six years ago, audiences gathered to watch Earth's Mightiest Heroes restore half of the life in the universe and defeat the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe threat to date. Little did we know that after such a key victory, the Avengers would disband even when the world still needed them. Since then, other heroes have attempted to rise to the occasion and prevent the multiverse as a whole from collapsing, with varying degrees of success. But, at long last, the time has come for a group of remarkable people to assemble once again and fight the battles that no one else could.
Avengers: Doomsday will not only mark the long-awaited return of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but it will also make superhero history by featuring the Fantastic Four and X-Men in the same live-action movie. Anticipation is at an all-time high, and this could be the MCU's chance to raise the bar when it comes to big team-ups. As such, fans are eager to get a glimpse of the upcoming crossover and discover what surprises await. Fortunately, we finally know when the Avengers: Doomsday teaser will be released, and the best part is that we don't have to wait (too) long for it.
First look at Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly play before Avatar: Fire and Ash
According to renowned and reliable insider Daniel Richtman, our first look at Avengers: Doomsday will play in theaters before Avatar: Fire and Ash, which is set to release on Dec. 19, 2025. It seems that Marvel Studios will give its fans a little early Christmas present, but now the biggest question is: What will be inside the box?

Prior to the release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel released a trailer that showcased all of the projects that paved the way up until that point. It was mostly a collection of scenes that audiences had already witnessed in previous movies, displaying the history of the MCU and its key players. Of course, the trailer ended with a glimpse of Earth's Mightiest Heroes' latest adventure, but it was just barely a small tease. So, given how secretive Avengers: Doomsday is turning out to be, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that the marketing team could apply a similar strategy yet again.
The road to Avengers: Doomsday hasn't been paved by the MCU alone. Variants of the characters we thought were long gone from the Fox X-Men era will make an appearance as well. There could be a chance that our first look at the upcoming crossover ends up being a recollection of scenes from previous X-Men movies, coupled with sequences of other MCU projects and heroes relevant in the Multiverse Saga.
Knowing that Disney has already revealed Doctor Doom's design, we can assume that the trailer will feature him in some capacity. Granted, it's very unlikely that we'll get to see what his face looks like under the mask. However, in the worst-case scenario, we could get a tease of him similar to the one in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and in the best scenario, we see him in his entirety, sitting on a throne at Latveria while wearing his whole suit.
Even if we haven't seen any official footage from Avengers: Doomsday, its marketing campaign has already started firing on all cylinders. First, the movie's directors, the Russo Brothers, shared a very blurry image of the movie on social media, which is widely believed to showcase Reed Richards' chalkboard. Furthermore, a brief look at Doom killing Thanos was displayed at Disney's Merchandise Expo. Last, but not least, the Russo Brothers shared another image of the movie's set, which fans believe might hint that the Avengers will fight the X-Men.
We're a little over a year away from witnessing the return of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, so a teaser trailer could be released at any moment now. Fortunately, it seems we just have to wait a couple of months until that day is here.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
