We all know Peter Parker is a very busy man, oftentimes having to balance school with his responsibilities at home, a relationship, and saving New York City as a whole. However, he'll have his work cut out for him in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will feature many iconic villains that superhero fans are bound to recognize in a heartbeat. After being set up as a major antagonist back in 2017, Scorpion will finally have his chance to shine in the wall-crawler's upcoming adventure. Furthermore, The Hand will make a comeback after last being seen in the events of The Defenders back in 2017. As if that wasn't enough, both Boomerang and Tarantula will also have the chance to become worthy antagonists of Spidey by making their live-action debut.
All of these characters have already been showcased in the first Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer. However, lurking in the shadows lies yet another antagonist who might be integral to the future of the street-level corner of the MCU. After having a pivotal role in Spider-Noir, Tombstone will finally join the big screen, and our first look at his character is finally here.
New Spider-Man: Brand New Day promotional art gives us our first look at Tombstone
Less than two months separate us from the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As such, Sony has started a major promotional push for its upcoming film, and new merch posters have been released for the whole world to see. The first one is nearly an exact recreation of the comic book cover of The Spectacular Spider-Man No. 142, in which Tombstone holds a defeated Spider-Man on a construction girder at the very top of a building.

Marvin Jones III is set to bring Tombstone to life in the wall-crawler's upcoming adventure. Interestingly, we could see his character take over the spotlight for years to come. It has been reported that the recurring enemies in Spider-Man's newest trilogy are Venom, Kingpin, Hammerhead, Prowler, and Tombstone. So it wouldn't be surprising for them to show up in multiple projects over the following years.
A different Spider-Man: Brand New Day poster showcases Spidey at the very center, surrounded by three foes that he'll face later this year: Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone. The latter's design matches the one seen in the art above, so it's very likely that this will be the villain's final look.

Rumor has it that Sony intends to release a new Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer when Masters of the Universe hits theaters. If that turns out to be the case, then perhaps we could finally get our first look at Tombstone in action. Otherwise, we could at least hear his voice in the background, teasing that a bigger threat lies in store for Peter Parker.
For the time being, it's unclear how Lonnie Lincoln will fit into the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It's been speculated that he'll be the one to hire The Hand in the first place and task them with breaking the Scorpion out of prison. With that in mind, there's a chance that all the supervillains involved in the film, including Tarantula and Boomerang, are answering to Tombstone. But what does the mob boss want to accomplish? Well, that mystery will likely elude us until the film is finally released.
2026 has been a big year for Tombstone. Not only did he make his live-action debut in Spider-Noir, but he's set to take the spotlight in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. If that wasn't enough, we'll see the iconic villain in the second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. That can only mean bad news for the wall-crawler, and we can't wait to see how it all pans out.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
