Spider-Man is one of the most popular Marvel superheroes ever created, which means he's had no shortage of adaptations over the course of the years. However, there will be no better time to be a fan of the web-slinger than 2026. Next year will see the release of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday (in which we hope Peter Parker appears), and, of course, the first-ever live-action Spider-Man Noir adaptation.
Nicholas Cage will portray a darker and more violent version of Peter Parker who isn't afraid to use guns in the MGM+ and Amazon Prime series. Expectation was already at an all-time high given that the beloved actor did a flawless job voicing Spider-Man Noir in the Spider-Verse saga. But to take things a step further, set pictures of the live-action adaptation revealed that the wall-crawler is set to sport a comic-book accurate look, which made us all the more excited. We were counting the days until we could finally get our first official look at this new iteration of Peter, and that time has finally come.
Yes, it appears we're in for a very special project.

Nicholas Cage stuns as Spider-Man: Noir
No, your eyes don't deceive you. This isn't a picture of Spider-Man Noir taken from the Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions video game (even though it definitely looks like that). This is our first official look at the live-action Spider-Man Noir series, which was released during the Amazon Upfront presentation on May 12. The fedora hat, bright white lenses, large coat, and dark gloves are all there. The only thing missing is a handgun (which could very well be out of frame), and we'd have a 100% comic-book accurate look. Isn't it astonishing?
Additionally, Spider-Man Noir producer Christopher Miller revealed that the series will be released in 2026, it will be presented in black and white, and its setting will be the 1930s (similar to the source material). Yes, we're going all-in.
While details about the story have tightly remained under wraps, rumor has it that Nicholas Cage's Spider-Man will battle the Sandman on the very first episode of the series. Furthermore, it has been heavily speculated that Brendan Gleeson's casting could indicate that the (Green) Goblin is bound to make an appearance as well, which wouldn't be too far-fetched considering the supervillain had a major role to play in the original comic book storyline.
Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott Macarthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, and Amanda Schull have also joined the cast of Spider-Man: Noir in undisclosed roles. But just like this violent version of Peter Parker, we can put on our detective hats and try to solve the mystery on our own. Amanda Schull would be a perfect pick for this iteration of Felicia Hardy, who owns a club called The Black Cat. Furthermore, Cary Christopher could play a young version of the web-slinger, while Michael Kostroff would be an ideal choice to bring The Vulture to life (a villain who simply has to appear in the series, given that he killed Uncle Ben in this grim tale).
The Spider-Man: Noir comic book series re-imagines many beloved villains such as Kraven and the Chameleon, so there's also the chance that we get to see them on the small screen, too. But when will we know for sure just who will be there? Well, given that the MGM+ and Amazon Prime series is set to release next year, a trailer shouldn't be too far away. Fortunately, the series' marketing already started with this incredible first look. which only makes us excited about what's to come.
Nicholas Cage may be known as Ghost Rider in the superhero world, but soon everyone will see him as the spectacular (and cold-blooded) Spider-Man. The series can't get here quickly enough.
Spider-Man: Noir will be released in 2026.
