Harley Quinn just killed off a major character (and we're not okay!)

Harley Quinn season 5 episode 6 leaves fans wondering who killed (SPOILER) at the end of the episode and what's next for Poison Ivy.

The sixth episode of Harley Quinn season 5 was a lot of fun. Lois Lane punched Harley in the face, Clayface and Bane wrote a musical (that was totally a shot at Joker: Folie a Deux), and then the musical was performed and it was hilarious. And shockingly, the audience loved it.

But things didn’t stay cheerful on the DC TV series. As Brainiac watched the play, he saw Frank the Plant mocking Koko and saying his alien monkey companion was dead. As he begins laughing, he finally realizes Koko is really dead. This puts him in a fouler mood than normal.

After the realization, Brainiac looks at the screen and says, “I only have you to talk to. I don’t know if you know what it is like to lose what you love most. How it makes you feel. How nothing even matters anymore. I'm sure none of you know what this pain is like.” After his speech, we go back to the play and we see Frank is dead. After Poison Ivy fails to bring Frank back, Brainiac says that she now knows what it’s like.

Brainiac (whose real name is Vril Dox) was speaking to someone after realizing that Koko was dead. On one hand, it’s easy to say that he’s speaking to us, the viewers, and breaking the fourth wall. It would be funny if he believed he was talking to us, but, unlike Deadpool, he's still talking to himself. However, it’s possible that someone else was in the room. If this writer had to guess, it's probably Lena Luthor.

Lena was furious that nothing was done with her information about Brainiac. Instead of telling the world about Brainiac's plan to steal Metropolis, a play was created and it made him look sympathetic. After Vril reneged on their deal, the last thing Lena wanted was for people to think their future overlord was someone to pity. So she left and conveniently returned after Frank was discovered dead.

With Brainiac talking to a mysterious person, it would make sense it was Lena. She could understand Vril's point about Harley and Ivy not being worth saving. She risked her life for them and they made a mockery of her kindness. After seeing the play, she could contact Brainiac and he'd teleport her to Frank and back without anyone noticing. After proving her dedication by killing someone Ivy cares about, their deal would be back on.

Pay attention to how Ivy treats Harley. She knows that her partner was killing people in her sleep. It wouldn’t be surprising if she questioned Harley about Frank’s murder. It’s not as if she doesn’t have a track record of reckless behavior and Ivy will be so distraught that she may say some things she’ll regret, quite possibly leading to another cliffhanger in episode 7. We'll have to wait and see.
