Previously, on Harley Quinn season 5, Harley and Poison Ivy joined Bruce and Damian Wayne, Lois Lane, and Joker and his daughter Sophia for a big pasta dinner party in their condo complex. Like everything else in Harley’s life, the gathering leads to shenanigans. In this case, a faked death, the return of Dick Grayson as Red X, and Alfred “The Butler” Pennyworth taking Venom. Admittedly, that’s a lot to take in, but it all connects.
Alfred faked his death to get Dick Grayson to kill everyone there. You see, Alfred’s responsible for Dick being resurrected in the Lazarus Pit. His plan was for Dick (as Red X) to murder everyone. Pennyworth hates Joker, Ivy, and Harley because everything goes to Hell around them. He hates Bruce for never appreciating him. After Burce apologizes and is forgiven by Dick and Damian, Alfred (dressed as Macaroni) takes a shot of Venom to make himself super strong. Alfred eventually loses after getting his prison ankle monitor wet and it electrocutes him.
It was a fun episode, but it does connect to the main Brainiac storyline in the end thanks to Lois Lane. She asks Harley to become her assistant at the Daily Planet because they are both having nightmares about a skull. Now that Harley knows she’s not crazy (at least about this) the two of them can investigate what’s really going on. The only thing stopping them is a giant clay roadblock.
Clayface has been posing as Perry White since the third episode of this season. Since then, he has blocked everything Lois wanted to cover. The good news is that Harley will easily get around him. There's no way she won't recognize Clayface's voice. Or they’ll do whatever they want and not ask for approval. They’re both rule-breakers willing to get the job done.
A random fun moment is when Joker and Bruce Wayne bonded during their time in Bruce’s sauna. If it wasn't for Joker's advice during this scene, Bruce wouldn't have apologized to Dick and Damian for being a bad father. Now, Damian and Sophia are dating. Joker seems happy to have an excuse to hang out with Bruce again. Maybe they'll become friends. As weird as that sounds, it's not in the top 100 strangest things that have happened in this series.
