In the first episode of season 5 of Harley Quinn, Bruce Wayne gives Harley and Poison Ivy a great deal on a condo. What they didn’t know was that came with being invited to a pasta dinner for the entire complex. Unfortunately, the only people who live there are Lois Lane, Bruce and Damian Wayne, and Joker and his adopted daughter. It was a sad get-together until things got exciting.

While the…party is going, the lights go out and Alfred Pennyworth is killed. To make things worse, Harley is holding a bloody knife. Instead of staying to clear her name, she, Ivy, and King Shark’s son Shaun, run away. They should have stayed. Apparently, Alfred fakes his death often to make Bruce appreciate him more. But Alfred's disdain for being unrecognized for what he does is about to turn violent.

As Bruce tells Harley that Alfred is alive, Red X shows up and attacks everyone. As predicted, Red X is Dick Grayson. Before Dick can deliver the killing stroke, Bruce does the unthinkable. He apologizes to him and Damian for being an absent father. It was a moment that caused Dick to come out of his murderous rage and become the more gentle hero we know.

Soon after that, Alfred shows up in his Macaroni costume and reveals that he had Dick resurrected. The idea was for Dick to kill Bruce, Harley, Ivy, and Joker. Alfred says out of all of Batman's villains, they're the worst. As for, Bruce, the billionaire who Alfred raised doesn't even know his last name (he thinks it's Butler). Luckily, Harley comes up with a plan. She says that they need to shock his thingy. Yes, this is an episode of Harley Quinn, but the "thingy" she means is his court-appointed ankle monitor. Not his... thingy.

This was a fun episode and sometimes that’s all you need. There were a good amount of jokes, plenty of randomness, and some violence. Plus, the episode ends with Lois Lane admitting that she’s having nightmares about skulls like Harley is. Lois first mentioned this in the third episode of this season, but Editor-in-Chief Perry White (who’s currently Clayface) doesn’t want her covering that. She offers Harley an opportunity to be her assistant and she accepts.
