Season 5, episode 7 of episode Harley Quinn ended with Poison Ivy and Harley having a huge argument. Ivy was furious that Harley asked Lena Luthor for help. Lena killed Frank the Plant and it didn’t help that Lena stole Frankette from them just as they were starting to bond.
Episode 8 picks up right after Frankette is stolen and Harley and Ivy are arguing. Harley tries to plead her case, but her partner doesn’t want to hear it. Ivy says she’s going to kill Lena and as Harley goes to help, Ivy stops her because she doesn’t want her help. As bad as that is, things get worse. Dividing was only part of Lena’s plan.
Lena knew that keeping Harley and Ivy apart was the key to defeating them. So step one was the argument that led to them being separated. Step two is paying Harley’s father to keep her away from Ivy while she (Lena) kills her. It was a brilliant plan, but it inevitably failed and will possibly lead to her downfall.
As Ivy was in Lena’s apartment, she found her journal - which was full of creative and painful ways to kill her brother, Lex Luthor. HarlIvy had finally found a crack in Lena’s armor. She has a deep hatred and jealousy of Lex. All they have to do is break Lex out of prison (which they did with the help of Harley’s newly widowed mother) and talk him into helping them. Unfortunately, before they could return with Lex, Lena had already shrunk Metropolis, brought it to Brainiac’s ship, and bottled it.

What to expect from Harley Quinn season 5's penultimate episode
This is the penultimate episode of season 5 so things should start to come together so that the finale can run smoothly. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy should start getting everything they need to take down Lena Luthor. And if the title “Family Feud” indicates what will happen, Lena and Lex Luthor will have it out with each other. However, that’s not necessarily a good thing. While they're fighting, Brainiac will make a move.
Brainiac learned about Lena’s issue with her brother. That means he’ll use his over 9000-level intellect to exploit that, regain control of his ship, and add all of Earth to his collection. Or destroy it because Earth is the dumpster fire of the universe.
