As years have gone by, more and more Marvel movies have been greenlit and made their way onto the big screen. However, that also means that the superhero giant now struggles with meeting deadlines. Avengers: Secret Wars was originally scheduled for release on Nov. 7, 2025, but it's now coming our way on Dec. 17, 2027. Furthermore, Spider-Man: Brand New Day was pushed back ever so slightly from Jul. 24, 2026, to Jul. 31, 2026. But perhaps the most heartbreaking example comes courtesy of the Spider-Verse saga.
After Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ended things on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, fans were eager to discover how Miles' journey would come to an end. Unfortunately, the original one-year wait was indefinitely extended until Sony eventually announced a new release date: June 4, 2027, before pushing it back all the way to June 25, 2027. But in a time when delays seem like the new norm, fans were recently treated to a pleasant surprise.
The wall-crawler's upcoming adventure is coming our way sooner than expected... even if it isn't a major difference.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released one week earlier, on June 18, 2027
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has a new release date. Sony's upcoming animated movie has been moved forward one week, from June 25, 2027, to June 18, 2027, just in time for Father’s Day weekend. The new release date isn't radically different, by any means, but it does suggest that production on Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is moving along swiftly.
During CinemaCon 2025, co-director Bob Persichetti stated that the movie will feature even more animation styles compared to Across the Spider-Verse, which was already a stylistically diverse project. Spider-Punk's style alone took two to three years to perfect, and he was just one character out of dozens featured in the film. That's why there was such a long delay in the first place between the sequel and the trilogy-capper, and why the new release paints a better picture than it might appear at first sight. After all, we can't forget the movie was initially delayed by three weeks after its official presentation at CinemaCon.

Production on Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has been tumultuous so far, but it appears it's finally finding some much-needed stability. Hopefully, the four-year gap in between films will also mean that animators won't have to work 11 hours a day this time around.
2027 is shaping up to be a big year for superhero fans. The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga will come to an end with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars, Superman will get its long-awaited sequel in the form of Man of Tomorrow, and Miles Morales' animated journey will have an explosive conclusion.
Interestingly, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Marvel is unable to use Miles in live-action until Sony completes its work on the Spider-Verse saga. That means that there could be a slight chance that Tom Holland's Peter Parker becomes a mentor to Miles in the MCU. While nothing is confirmed as of yet, 2027 could hold the answers to all the questions we have regarding the wall-crawlers.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released on June 18, 2027.
