No matter the Game of Thrones show, each season will have a moment that surpasses everything that previously happened. For example, there’s the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones and Ser Duncan winning his battle against Prince Aerion Targaryen in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. House of the Dragon season 3 just had that moment, and it came from an unlikely source: King Aegon II Targaryen.

Aegon has come a long way since he was burned by his brother Aemond and his dragon Vhagar (which took place in House of the Dragon season 2: "The Red Dragon and the Gold") and left his kingdom for his own safety. In that time, he’s become a better character. That was proven in the previous episode when he stood up to an army of knights, who were prepared to kill him for not acknowledging Rhaenyra Targaryen as his queen.

In a passionate speech (which was very well-acted by Tom Glynn-Carney), Aegon tells them who he is and refuses to bend the knee. Then, out of nowhere and like a guardian demon from the depths of Hell, his dragon, Sunfyre, appears, scarred but alive. And with a single word ("Dracarys!"), Aegon shifts the balance of power a little more, leading to a must-watch season finale.

What to expect in the next episode of House of the Dragon season 3

Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen is about to find out that Aegon is back, and this will undoubtedly start another war. But as we all know with House of the Dragon, those two aren’t the only people invested in ruling. as Lord Ormund Hightower has something devious in mind and is willing to kill anyone who gets in his way. Hopefully, he won’t survive this season, and he’ll get what's coming to him. Fans won't have to wait much longer to find out.

If I had to guess, this season will end with the start of the Dance of the Dragons. This is where Daemon Targaryen and Caraxes fight Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar. Viewers won’t get to see the battle because the writers will likely end this season getting people prepared for one of the greatest dragon fights ever. But then again, that's just one prediction as there are plenty os possibilities for what could happen next.

But with the battle of Tumbleton brewing, Ormund planning something dark with Ulf, and who knows what Aegon has up his sleve now that he's back, the season 3 finale of House of the Dragon is sure to be one of the most epic, larger-than-life, and unforgettable episodes that the Game of Thrones Universe has ever given us.

Needless to say, we are ready for what's coming from the HBO series.
