Invincible has the chance to do something few comic book projects have and become better than the source material. Yes, the show has its flaws. One of the biggest was splitting the season into two parts. Invincible creator Robert Kirkman said it was a necessity for the production of the show. Thankfully, that won’t be the case this time around. Things are back to normal with a three-episode premiere and then a weekly release.
This season will start with the darkest times for Mark Grayson (Invincible) and it starts with him wearing the blue and black costume. He’ll be betrayed by people he trusted, have his name dragged through the mud, and be hurt like he never has before. Considering the beatdown he got from his father, Omni-Man, that says a lot. But it won’t just be him. Rex Splode, Rudy (Robot), and more will see their lives drastically changed thanks to a new batch of villains and side characters.
If you’re a fan of the source material, you know what’s coming. However, the show’s creative team has switched things up. For example, in the Invincible comic book, Rudy didn’t clone himself until after Mark reunited with his father on planet Thraxa. A major change in season 2 is Debbie Grayson didn't become an alcoholic. Something that makes sense because of her trauma, but may not have aged well. We can expect alterations in this season as well. Among them are the Invincible War and the arrival of Conquest happening sooner than we think.
There is to remember going into the season. Among the important things is Mark has a little brother named Oliver. Allen the Alien let himself get captured by the Viltrumites so he could talk Nolan (Omni-Man) into joining his cause. Mark and Amber broke up leaving fans wondering what’s next for him and Samantha Eve Wilkins (Atom Eve).
Prime Video will certainly have a recap option before the episode starts. To catch it, you’ll have to watch the season premiere. Keep scrolling for the release time and platform to watch it and more.
