Each episode of Invincible season 3 has ended with something to look forward to throughout the remainder of the series and the fifth episode was no different. Instead of being about one of the main heroes or villains, it revolves around the secondary characters. However, a regime change for an international crime syndicate is a very big deal.
After Eve and Mark (Invincible) say they want to get an apartment together, Eve creates Invincible Inc. so they can make money. The company would retain Invincible’s services to protect its product by calling him whenever they're in trouble. Mark and Eve's first mission was against the leader of the Order, Mr. Liu who attempted to break his assassin (and Dupli-Kate’s brother) Multi-Paul out of prison.
"That guy--watch out. He's smarter than you think. Even for someone who's 50% rock."
- Machine Head about Titan
While Invincible and Atom Eve fight Liu's dragon form, Machine Head escapes from prison. With the help of his teleporter, Isotope, he then shoots Liu in the head. He knows that the only way to stop Liu’s dragon form is to kill the man himself. Now Machine Head is in charge of The Order. However, it was Titan that set it all up. And while it looked like Liu was dead, he came back to life with the help of magic and his bodyguard.

Getting their house in Order
Machine Head wasn’t someone important after his first appearance in the Invincible comic book. He was sent to a superhero prison and wasn't heard from again. Now, he’s in charge of the biggest crime families in the world. There’s no way the creative team did this without a reason. At some point, Machine Head will return and it’ll likely end with Mark or Titan killing him.
Speaking of Titan, he did a masterful job throughout this episode. Unlike his comic book counterpart, he made moves that helped him and his community. For example, the only reason Titan let Machine Head stay in charge was so his family would be safe. He knew he couldn’t do that with Liu alive. So, the only thing left to do was put someone in his place that he knew would leave him alone.
"I keep the city, you all get everything else."Titan to The Order
Being a smart boss, Machine Head agreed to let Titan go. Liu underestimated Titan, but Machine Head knew better. He understands that letting Titan go is good for business. He beat him once and he's capable of doing it again.
As for Mr. Liu, it’s shocking that the creative team left him alive. That means they have plans for him in the upcoming episodes. Maybe he helps defeat a Viltrumite during a certain upcoming war during season 3, episode 7. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out if that happens.
