You might be disappointed by this Invincible season 4 episode 4 news

If you're hoping for a binge-watch in Invincible season 4, you won't be happy about the wait for the fourth episode of the season. This is when the weekly releases kick in.

It's safe to say that Invincible fans rejoiced when the fourth season premiered on Prime Video. Granted, it had only been a year since the previous season released its finale, but it goes without saying that fans of the beloved Robert Kirkman series wanted more of Mark Grayson's adventures as soon as possible. And, in all fairness, for an animated series that took two and a half years to release new episodes between its first two seasons, it has done a pretty fantastic job in maintaining the annual release schedule since.

Season 4's three-part premiere is just the newest chapter in that ongoing story and, judging by the events of it, Invincible's powerhouse legacy continues with all of the momentum. That being said, if you have already consumed the first three episodes of the series' return and want more, you'll be disappointed by what you are about to hear.

Invincible season 4 shifts to weekly releases with episode 4

Invincible season 4 episode 4, titled "Hurm", will premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, March 25, at 3:00 a.m. ET, 12:00 a.m. PT, 1:00 a.m. CT, and 2:00 a.m. MT. While that's not too far away, it means that you won't be able to binge the whole season at once, as the fourth installment will commence the show's weekly release schedule.

Prime Video made the three-episode premiere format famous. In a world of binge-watching and weekly releases, this format finds the middle ground. There are highs and lows to this, of course, because while it does encourage binge-watching the first three episodes of each season, it also means that the wait for the fourth episode is particularly long. This is something that fans of Invincible, and other superhero shows like The Boys and Gen V can attest to.

Amazon's Prime Video streaming service has occasionally toyed with changing up Invincible release schedule before, but the only time that the streaming service actually went through with it was the second season - during which it split the release format into two mini seasons of four weekly episodes each (one in the winter and the other in the spring). But that didn't go down too well with fans, especially considering that it had been two and a half years since season 1 - manufacturing another hiatus just to deliver a midseason break wasn't well-received by audiences.

Since then, it has restored the show's release schedule to the same one it had in season 1, effectively making that work once again for season 3 and now season 4, too. Although, it's understandable that the binge-watchers among us might be disappointed at the prospect of now having to wait a week for one episode after consuming three pretty quickly.

But hey, when Invincible season 4 is already as strong as we had hoped (stronger, even!), you can bet that it will make the week-long waits for each of the new episodes of the season that much more worth it. We can't wait for Mark Grayson's next adventures, but something tells us that they're going to be very, very intense for the young hero known as Invincible.

New episodes of Invincible season 4 release on Prime Video each and every Wednesday through to the end of April.
