Invincible season 4's seventh episode showed the greatest feat of strength in the series so far. Sadly, this win leads to an even bigger loss.

There are certain moments in the Invincible comic book series that are unforgettable. The fight between Nolan (Omni-Man) and his son Mark Grayson (Invincible), the Invincible War, and the arrival of Conquest are three moments that come to mind. Not only were they amazing, but they may have been even better in the TV show adaptation.

But, for this writer, what happened in the most recent episode of the Prime Video series rates in the top three moments in the show and comic book’s history.

*** WARNING! SPOILERS FOR INVINCIBLE SEASON 4 EPISODE 7 ***

The moment fans of both the Invincible comic book and show have been waiting for finally came: Grand Regent Thragg finally fought, and he didn’t disappoint. In fact, while a lot of the characters have been depowered from the source material, Thragg is more powerful. So much so that charging his punch created its own gravitational pull - that's something he couldn’t do in the comics. It immediately let viewers know that his arrival was worth the wait.

Then came the battle, and the heroes were losing. Out of nowhere, Omni-Man made a decision that turned the tide of the war. Great Thaedus, Invincible, Omni-Man, and a blast from Space Racer’s gun destroyed a planet. More importantly, it was Planet Viltrum. Shocking to no one, this isn’t something Grand Regent Thragg will take lightly. What he does next is terrifying: They're heading to Earth.

An Invincible explanation

No good can come from Thragg and the rest of the Viltrumites going to Earth. To make things worse, villains have more than a two-week head start on top of the time it’ll take for Nolan and Mark to return home. In that time, Grand Regent Thragg, Anissa, Lucan, General Kregg, and Thula can do whatever they want on the heroes’ homeworld. However, what Thragg has planned isn’t the kind of conquering you’d expect.

The last thing Grand Regent Thragg says after easily defeating Nolan and Invincible is, “We are too few already.” Even if you haven’t read the comics, that should be enough of a clue for viewers to get what’s next. If not, I’ll make it clear. The next step is to rebuild the Viltrum Empire by using human hosts.

First, it’s not as barbaric as it sounds. Thragg won’t suggest assaulting the people on Earth. He will make a deal with Mark and Nolan that the remaining Viltrumites will live peacefully among the humans. It's been proven that Earthlings’ DNA pairs well with the Viltrumites. So, with that in mind, all that’s left is for the remaining few to do what Nolan did and find a host.

It’s not as disgusting (yet) as you're thinking, but still pretty brutal. Nevertheless, it's not as if Thragg has given the heroes many options. It's either agree to the terms or the war starts again on Earth. And, as we've seen, it's not a fight Mark or Nolan can win.

The season 4 finale of Prime Video’s Invincible is scheduled to be released on April 22. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow for updates.
