Prime Video's Invincible has been thrilling audiences with its fourth season over the course of the past month and it has all been leading to this moment. In the previous episode of the series, the idea of Thragg being, as the kids on the internet like to say, a fraud was debunked. He beat Nolan (Omni-Man), Great Thaedus, and Invincible himself without even breaking a sweat. Too bad it came after the three of them destroyed Planet Viltrum.

At the end of the episode, Nolan, Mark, and Oliver attempt to recover from their near-death injuries. Invincible is confused about why he was alive when Thragg could have killed him. Allen - who’s now in charge of the Coalition of Planets - revealed that he he doesn’t know why he let them live, or where the remaining Viltrumites went. That’s when Mark realizes that they left the fight to go to Earth. And with that, the season 4 finale is upon us.

What to expect in Invincible season 4 episode 8

We have arrived at the Invincible season 4 finale and the stakes couldn't be any higher. There are a handful of Viltrumites left in the universe (37 left in the comics at this point in the storyline), and that isn’t enough to restart the population. As we’ve seen from Mark gaining the Viltruite abilities, humans are compatible with their DNA. Thragg realizes this and decides that the best course of action is to make Earth the new Vitrum homeworld.

After Thragg makes his presence known on Earth, a deal will likely be proposed: The Viltrumites won’t attack anyone, but they won’t help either. If Nolan and Invincible refuse, they’ll destroy the planet. Rather than test the most powerful being in the universe, they will probably accept his terms... even if they don't like them.

Away from the Viltrumites is the storyline with Nolan and Debbie. If this is like the source material, Debbie will go to Planet Talescria to be with Oliver. Before they arrive, she and Nolan will reconcile on the way there. However, this isn’t the comics, so it wouldn’t be shocking if this is altered.

As for Eve, she will make a decision about her pregnancy. When Mark sees her, he will be understanding in a way that every partner should. This is the beginning of their relationship being taken to another level. But with season 5 on the horizon, there will undoubtedly be more trials ahead for everyone.

Lastly, I fully expect this season to end the same way volume 14 of the comic book did, with Thaedus leaving Allen a message in case of his death - a message that might even contain a perfected version of the Scourge Virus that no Viltrumite will survive. Now that Allen is in charge of keeping the Coalition of Planets safe, he’ll learn that the phrase “Heavy is the head that wears the crown” is truer than he knows. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out what that means.
