Ironheart has the most baffling release schedule for a Marvel show yet

Marvel Television's next MCU show has an unusual release schedule, but it could be worth it for Ironheart in the end.

It's almost time for another slice of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the small screen as Ironheart is set to fly onto Disney Plus. The long-awaited TV series has been in the works - or, well, completed - for three years and it's finally set to make its debut. Starring Dominique Thorne, the show is a spinoff of 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with Ryan Coogler returning to produce. It's also set to continue the legacy established back at the beginning of the MCU with Iron Man, acting as the Multiverse Saga's first real technological-centric story.

Ironheart was initially meant to premiere much, much sooner than it ultimately is, but early reactions suggest that the show is worth the wait. The final project of Phase Five (before next month's The Fantastic Four: First Steps kicks off Phase Six), it's reportedly more important to the MCU lore than you might think - and that makes it a must-watch.

If you're ready to watch the show, be warned: It's going to have a very short run. With that in mind, here's when you can expect each of the episodes.

Ironheart's release schedule confirms the show is Marvel's first weekly binge

Ironheart will premiere on Disney Plus on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. ET and 6:00 p.m. PT (see the release time where you live here). However, it won't just debut with one episode as Marvel Studios has officially confirmed that the first three episodes will premiere at the same time. Although this isn't the first time that the studio has released more than one episode for the premiere, Ironheart will make its own history as it has been confirmed that the second batch of three episodes will be released next week, premiering on July 1 in the same timeslot.

Yep, Ironheart has just a two-week run, making it the first ever MCU show on Disney Plus to do that. It's not the first binge-drop that the studio has ever released, as 2024's Echo released all five of its episodes at once, but it is the first to do so across two weeks. To say that this is unusual would be an understatement.

Fans have speculated that the studio is eager to release the show and move on simply due to the fact that it's a part of the previous Marvel Studios TV strategy that saw the studio relying on miniseries. Since then, the rebranded Marvel Television has focused solely on producing lower budget shows that can actually return for multiple seasons. There's still hope that Ironheart could return for a second season, but given that Marvel has been holding onto the completed project for three years now, audiences are wondering if the studio is ready to just get it out into the world as fast as possible.

On the other hand, there could be a method to Marvel's apparent madness here. Releasing Echo all at once ensured that a show focused on a lesser-known Marvel character ended up charting on the Nielsen Top 10 for that week (the more episodes meant that there was more time spent watching it). Given that Riri Williams isn't as well known to general audiences either, dropping more episodes at once can help it perform better. Let's hope that this is the case, because truly Ironheart deserves better.
