IT: Welcome to Derry has been deeper and more brutal than anyone thought it would be. It's not just because of the violence, either. It was the way the creative team perfectly placed every death in the series and each appearance of Pennywise, making each scene more emotional than a lot of horror projects. That was especially the case with the seventh episode.
The final moments of Rich were tragic, and viewers won’t forget. His death was sad enough. But the way Arian S. Cartaya (Rich) and Matilda Lawler (Marge) performed this scene made it one of the best youll see on TV this year, and it will certainly add gravity to the season finale. Marge will be braver when it’s time to speak up about what the men in Derry did to the Black people there and her friend.
The most important part of the previous episode of the HBO series was the idiocy of the military. Because, as always, the people in power weren’t thinking logically. Rather than leaving the unknown alone, General Francis Shaw thought the best course of action was to let Pennywise run free. Why? Well, his exact quote was, “...the one thing that makes people really listen is fear." Yeah, to quote Dodgeball: “It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.” Fun fact, it won’t end well.

What to expect in IT: Welcome to Derry's season finale
One thing that we can probably guarantee about the season fianle of IT: Welcome to Derry is that there will be a body count. People in Derry are going to die, and it won’t be pretty. Pennywise is going to terrify the town and he will be sure to do it creatively. And after everything is said and done, the lore of the clown will be more exposed than before.
If you’re a fan of Stephen King’s universe, then you know certain characters appear or are referenced in future projects. Among them is Dick Hallorann, who appears in The Shining. However, if the creative team wants to throw a curveball, they can. IT: Welcome to Derry, could be the one Stephen King project that takes place in an alternate reality, making way for a new series of projects throughout the universe. Who knows what the finale could create and if it could set the stage for that potential second season.
