We have reached the halfway point of IT: Welcome To Derry's run. The HBO Max prequel series has been thrilling audiences over the past few weeks with the origins of Pennywise delivering nothing short of absolutely must-see TV. And you can rest assured that it plans on doing that throughout the rest of its run.

Fans still haven't recovered from that jaw-dropping conclusion of the premiere episode, which really set the tone for the remainder of the season. If you haven't been watching, you might have caught that recent, out-of-context clip of the terrifying creature chasing a child. Yep, it's safe to say that IT: Welcome to Derry is not for the faint of heart.

If you're ready to tune into the next episode, there will be a bit of a wait. The good news is that it won't be too long until it arrives. And with that, here's when you can expect it.

When IT: Welcome To Derry episode 5 comes out on HBO Max

IT: Welcome To Derry episode 5 will come out on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, November 23 2025. The episode is titled "Neibolt Street" and, like the previous installments, it will air on linear cable via HBO at 9:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. PT, 7:00 p.m. CT, and 8:00 p.m. MT, while also being available to stream at the exact same time. You don't have to wait for the broadcast to finish first before tuning into the stream as, like with all HBO and HBO Max collaborations, it's uploaded at the top of the hour as well.

This is a format that has served the WarnerMedia streamer and the HBO Channel well over the past few years, with shows such as House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, The Penguin, and Euphoria all receiving the same treatment. It helps each of the respective shows to reach new audiences while also allowing fans to choose how they would prefer to view each episode. And that, in today's day and age of endless choice and a pivot to streaming, is a very wise idea.

Although there are some exceptions to the rule (The Last of Us was uploaded onto HBO Max on Friday instead of Sunday on the week of the Super Bowl) and the same happened with IT: Welcome to Derry on the week of Halloween. As the episode still aired on HBO in its typical Sunday timeslot, fans weren't quite sure where to expect the rest of the episodes to premiere and when. However, as of the third episode, it has resumed its Sunday night releases.

It will hold onto the Sunday releases for the rest of the season, airing new episodes on both HBO and releasing them on the HBO Max streaming service right through to its finale on Sunday, December 14.
