Three episodes into season 2, Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones has yet to make her official return in Daredevil: Born Again, but she made her presence known during the Daredevil: Born Again panel at C2E2 on March 28. From discussing the contents of her bag to sharing love for Project Hail Mary to talking about knitting, Ritter brought energy to the discussion that the audience of fans fed off.

She was joined on the panel by Charlie Cox, Wilson Bethel, and Elden Henson. The discussion was structured as a question-and-answer session with fans in attendance. One audience member asked the cast about Marvel characters they would like to team up with, and Ritter’s answer intrigued the crowd.

Ritter wants to see Marvel's ‘goth mom and dad’ team up

While fans wait to see how Jessica Jones and Daredevil’s team-up comes to be in Daredevil: Born Again, they can ponder about her teaming up with a different street-level character — one who’s adjacent to Matt Murdock.

“I think that Jessica could have a 12-minute scene with Punisher,” Ritter said during the Daredevil: Born Again panel at C2E2. “Why not?

“I have never worked with Jon (Bernthal). We’ve never done anything together, but we’re like goth mom and dad.”

Ritter went on to highlight the amount of attitude and toughness the duo would collectively bring and lightheartedly posed her statements as an official pitch to Marvel.

Frank Castle/The Punisher isn’t expected to be in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. The storyline currently features him absent from the narrative with neither Karen Page nor Matt Murdock knowing about his whereabouts despite staying in his hideout. Castle’s next appearance is set to be in the Marvel Television Special Presentation The Punisher: One Last Kill, which streams May 12 on Disney+ following the conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again season 2. From there, the Punisher will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is in theaters on July 31.

With Ritter’s Jones firmly in the MCU now, though, the possibility for a Jones-Castle team-up isn’t out of the question. After all, they already have Matt in common as an ally.

Ritter reprising her role as private investigator Jessica Jones has received a lot of positive fanfare, and it was no different at the Daredevil: Born Again panel at C2E2. One fan who asked a question at the event was even dressed like Jones, making it clear how beloved the character is to the fandom.

Another fan asked about the impact Jones has made, for women especially, and in regard to the mental health representation she provides. Ritter mentioned the positive reception was unexpected but expressed appreciation for her character.

“A lot of therapists will tell me that they talk about Jessica Jones in sessions with their patients and that Jessica really represents so much to so many people, especially women,” Ritter said. “And I am just honored and thrilled that this is more than an acting gig that I get to be funny and tough and sassy. The way that Jessica always just puts one foot in front of the other even when it’s hard, even when she doesn’t want to, even when she has the weight of the world on her. I find strength in that. I know other people do as well, and, I mean, what an honor.”
