Marvel Zombies was unlike any of the Marvel Studios shows and movies that have been released. Yes, there was one episode of What If…? where the universe was introduced, but that was looked at as a one-off until the spinoff was announced. And what started as a movie turned into a mini-series, and has the opportunity to become something more. All that’s needed is for people to keep watching and praising the program.
A lot went on throughout the four-episode series. Beloved and hated characters were killed or turned into followers of the Queen of the Dead (Wanda Maximoff), random jokes were made, and the storyline was deeper than you’d expect. It wouldn’t be shocking if viewers missed something. Even if it was an alien with a gigantic head watching events occur.
*** WARNING! SPOLIERS FOR MARVEL ZOMBIES! ***

At the beginning of episode 3 of Marvel Zombies (1:04), Uatu, the Watcher, made his record-breaking 6th cameo. It happened so quickly that, if you blinked, you would have missed it. But that’s what Uatu has done throughout his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The fifth-dimensional being blends into the background to observe crucial events. In this case, the moment that leads to Thanos and T’Challa’s battle. Their fight caused the Infinity Stones to break, leading to the Hulk absorbing their energy, and Wanda taking them to make a world in her image.
In the Marvel Comics Universe, Uatu appears and is seen by people. The characters who know of him understand that his presence means something is happening that will reshape the course of history. For example, he popped up during the secret meeting of heroes in issue one of Marvel Comics’ Civil War. That was when the heroes started to choose between signing the Superhero Registration Act and becoming S.H.I.E.L.D. agents or joining Captain America’s resistance.
Uatu’s other on-screen appearances came in episode 5 of X-Men ‘97, episode 4 of Eyes of Wakanda, episode 5 of I Am Groot, the season finale of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and, of course, What If…?. We can likely expect to see him appear in more animated projects, but will he be in any live-action movies or shows going forward?
It would make sense to see him in Avengers: Doomsday because it’s gearing up to be one of the biggest moments in the MCU’s history. Also, it wouldn't be shocking if Doctor Doom acknowledges Uatu's presence and knows who the Watchers are and what their purpose is. It would be a great way to show that Doom is as smart as comic book fans have been saying for years. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out if that happens.
