Victor Von Doom has ruled the world for months, but that’s not shocking. The surprising part is that he’s gotten the approval of the people of the world. Despite all the evil he’s previously done, he did great things as Emperor Doom. However, in One World Under Doom No. 6, Marvel Comics’ heroes exposed Doom to the world by showing that people in Latveria were being tortured so he could wield power.
Sadly, in issue no. 7, we learn that some still supported Victor. One person seemed not to care because she’s never met a Letverian.

With Doom distracted by the backlash he received, the heroes took the opportunity to attack him. The combined might of the Avengers, some of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, M.O.D.O.K., and Squirrel Girl went after Earth’s Emperor with everything they had, but it wasn’t enough.
Doom knew their moves and countered at every step, and all looked hopeless. Then, out of nowhere, Doom is transported to the Astral Plane. Who could this be? Doctor Strange is in Asgard (read Derek Landy’s Doctor Strange of Asgard for that story), and Clea wasn’t in this issue. You’ll be shocked to learn that Reed “I don’t believe in Magic” Richards was the man behind the transport.
"You know what my favorite part of science is? It’s that anyone can wield it. You don’t need to be special or chosen. You don’t even need to think you’re a god. You simply need to put in the work."Reed Richards
The funny thing about this is that Reed still doesn’t like magic and isn’t good at it. He even says so during the fight with his rival. So, instead of using magic, he studied it and built a new science based on Doom’s battle with Dormammu (One World Under Doom Nos. 4 and 5). Unfortunately, that was Reed’s mistake. The attacks he used were the same ones Victor created to stop Dormammu. And with that, Mister Fantastic was defeated.
As expected, Doctor Doom had something special planned after leaving the Astral Plane. But it wasn’t death that awaited Mr. Fantastic. Victor said, “You won’t die, Richards. I promise nothing more.” And hits Reed with a green blast. We don’t know what happened, but the heroes lost again. That means we are still one world under Doctor Doom.
There are two more chapters left in One World Under Doom, and the description for issue No. 9 (the finale) is dark. Doom will be victorious, but at what cost? Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out.
