Marvel Studios is currently gearing up to close out its ongoing Multiverse Saga, but some eyes have already shifted to what lies ahead. There are still many questions about what the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be, or whether it will have a main, recurring theme like in previous years. However, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating.

The leading theory is that mutants will be the leading force of the next phase, and such an idea is only reinforced by the fact that an X-Men movie directed by Jake Schreier will be the first film to be released after Avengers: Secret Wars. However, it has also been widely theorized that the studio wants to introduce more supernatural storylines moving forward, with the Ghost Rider movie being the perfect example. As if that wasn't enough, we could also see cosmic heroes take over the spotlight, with the Eternals rumored to make their big comeback.

But among all the different paths the studio could decide to branch into next, we can't forget the street-level characters. After all, it has been reported that Marvel is considering making the street-level film that fans have been waiting to see for years.

A new report indicates Marvel could make a Daredevil movie

After it was announced that the third season of Daredevil: Born Again would be the last, fans were left wondering what the future would hold for characters like Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Unfortunately, we don't have a concrete answer just yet, and it is unlikely we'll find out more until after the final episodes of the iconic Disney+ series come our way. However, that hasn't stopped insiders from giving us a slight glimpse behind the curtain.

According to scooper James Mack, Marvel is considering making a Daredevil/Defenders theatrical film. Moreover, the same source revealed that Marvel wants to connect the street-level storyline with the supernatural elements that will be introduced in films like Ghost Rider so that everything feels connected. If this turns out to be the case, then it's likely that we'll finally see Daredevil face someone other than Kingpin and Bullseye.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time we've heard about Marvel wanting to bring the Defenders to the big screen. Reliable insider Alex Perez revealed that there were plans for a crossover film starring the likes of Spider-Man, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. The biggest difference, however, is that this project was meant to act as a culmination of the Devil's Reign storyline, with Kingpin as the main antagonist. However, that idea could've shifted to now involve supernatural elements.

It appears Marvel could be weighing its options when it comes to the Defenders and trying to figure out how to tie them into the next MCU saga. However, all reports seem to agree with the idea that Daredevil's time is far from over. Some even suggest the Devil of Hell's Kitchen will join Earth's Mightiest Heroes during the events of Avengers: Secret Wars.

There have also been rumors about Iron Fist and Luke Cage starring in a Heroes for Hire Disney+ special presentation, while Jessica Jones could have her own series. So while Daredevil: Born Again is coming to a definitive end, it could be the stepping stone from which many other street-level projects will spring. So, with a bit of luck, it won't be long before Marvel tells us more about the plans for its next saga, and hopefully Matt Murdock will be a key part of it.

Daredevil: Born Again season 3 will be released in 2027.
