Big things are happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sorry, let me rephrase that: Bigger things are happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yes, the legendary Marvel Studios franchise is building towards Avengers: Doomsday, which means that its upping the ante in every way imaginable to build hype. If you were a fan during the buildup to the previous Avengers movies (in 2018 and 2019), then you're very well aware of what that entails. If you weren't, oh boy are you in for a show.
Despite that, Avengers: Doomsday isn't actually the next sequel on the MCU's calendar. No, that title is reserved for another highly-anticipated Marvel Studios sequel - one that has been in the making for five years. And, after a lengthy, lengthy wait, it's almost upon us. To celebratethat, the marvelous studio has released a brand new teaser trailer.
VisionQuest teaser trailer brings Wanda's Vision to life
Marvel Studios has unveiled a brand new teaser trailer for VisionQuest and it really solidifies that fans are in for one heck of a ride when the series premieres on Disney Plus. The show - a direct sequel to WandaVision and Agatha All Along - will continue a number of plot threads set forth in both shows, all while placing the spotlight solely on Paul Bettany's Vision.

Much like the original trailer that Marvel Studios unveiled at the D23 Entertainment Showcase, this teaser makes it clear that VisionQuest is set to continue the WandaVision and Agatha tradition of being something truly unique and original. It also dives a little further into one specific plot point that the original only alluded to - one that we have all known that VisionQuest would tackle for some time now.
"Wanda Maximoff spun an illusion so convincing that some of it became real," Vision tells Ultron as he reconciles himself with the environment with which he is currently in (his mindscape reality that features a ton of human avatars for the MCU's AI characters). The events he is referencing are, of course, those of WandaVision, in which the Scarlet Witch - out of grief over the loss of Vision in Avengers: Infinity War - took over the town of Westview and crafted a beautiful sitcom like for herself, a fictional Vision, and their fictional children Tommy and Billy Maximoff.
We all know that the Hex that Wanda created eventually came down (at which point it was revealed that the real Vision had been rebuilt without his emotions), which seemingly destroyed the idyllic fictional life that their sitcom was built around. But, as Vision reminds us, some of it did become real. And that's where the other WandaVision sequel, Agatha All Along, comes in.
The 2024 Disney Plus series revealed that Wanda and Vision's magical son, Billy, has survived the Hex and, through a run in with Agatha Harkness on the Witches' Road, successfully managed to revive his brother Tommy. The very same Tommy who appears in VisionQuest and is portrayed by Ruaridh Mollica.
The trailer offers up a new look at Mollica's character, who will also get to show off his speed in the upcoming series. He wants to know what Vision isn't telling him, and it appears that it could be the fact that his fate is in question in this series. The spinoff will see the White Vision go up against Jocasta - who we are also treated to a first look at - in a battle that could result in the former Avenger's demise.
From this 30-second clip, it is once again clear that Marvel Studios is leaning into VisionQuest's position as a sequel to WandaVision. While the vast majority of the MCU TV shows stand on their own, the studio is actively promoting this one for what it is: The closing chapter of the franchise's epic WandaVision Trilogy. And considering that both WandaVision and Agatha All Along are widely regarded as two of the very best outings in the entire MCU - especially when it comes to the Disney Plus shows - that's not surprising at all.
As teh VisionQuest trailer tells us: "Her Vision, His Quest Comes To An Epic Conclusion". We can't wait to see that conclusion play out.
VisionQuest arrives on Disney Plus on October 14, 2026. It will premiere with a two-episode premiere.
