Tom Hiddleston is acting royalty. An esteemed actor in British theater for many years, he's appeared in the likes of Othello, Hamlet, and Much Ado About Nothing on the stage, as well as the likes of Casualty and The Hollow Crown on television. He's probably best known to mainstream audiences around the world for portraying Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - starting with Thor all the way back in 2011.
The God of Mischief elevated Hiddleston's already-promising career, ensuring that fans fell in love with a villainous character who could have very well been retired after one or two movies. But Loki was so beloved that he became a regular part of the MCU franchise, appearing in three of the four Thor movies as well as multiple Avengers movies. It all led to the return we were waiting for in Disney Plus series Loki, which Hiddleston led for two seasons.
The MCU star is also currently the lead of another TV show, and Hiddleston was finally able to provide fans with an update on its status ahead of its second season - a second season almost a decade in the making.
Tom Hiddleston finally speaks about The Night Manager season 2, confirming that its coming soon
Tom Hiddleston has finally addressed his upcoming return to one of his most beloved roles in The Night Manager season 2. Appearing on BBC's The One Show to promote The Life of Chuck (along with his co-stars Mark Hamill and Karen Gillan), he was asked a question about the second season of the drama series from a fan by hosts Roman Kemp and Clara Amfo. He responded by looking directly into the camera with a playful glint in his eye, simply saying: "Coming soon!".
The Night Manager originally aired on BBC back in 2016 and it was a huge success, receiving critical acclaim and high viewing figures. Even so, its comeback was surprising to say the least as it had spent most of its existence as a miniseries, so when BBC and Amazon Prime Video decided to renew it for another season, fans were surprised - pleasantly surprised, but surprised nonetheless. Even more so when it was revealed that this renewal was for two seasons.

Based on the eponymous 1993 novel, the series starred Hiddleston as Jonathan Pine - a night manager at a fancy hotel in Cairo and a former British soldier, who is recruited to investigate illegal arms deals - which really ups the tension in his life. The also features a star-studded cast, with Hugh Laurie, Elizabeth Debicki, David Harewood, and Olivia Colman all appearing in the first season.
The show's comeback after almost a decade might be somewhat unexpected, but it's a blessing that we will all be thankful for.
Hiddleston is also returning as Loki in Avengers: Doomsday
Jonathan Pine isn't the only role that Tom Hiddleston will be returning to in the near-future as he is also set to bring the God of Mischief back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although it's looking like his own MCU series Loki won't be back for a third season, the A-Lister has been confirmed to reprise his role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which arrives in movie theaters in December 2026.

The God of Mischief's most recent appearance in the franchise came in the season 2 finale of Loki, when he enchanted all of the timelines in the MCU's Multiverse, saving them from imminent destruction and offering his friends a chance at life. That meant that he would spend all of eternity on the throne at the End of Time as the God of Stories, overseeing the life that goes on across the multiverse.
With Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom now potentially looking to threaten the existence of the multiverse, a showdown with Loki is seemingly inevitable. And we can't wait to see that take place.
Tom Hiddleston has played many legendary roles in his career, but the fact that he will be revisiting what are arguably his two most beloved roles within the next year is just too exciting.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in movie theaters on December 18, 2026.
