We don't have too long to go until Avengers: Doomsday arrives in movie theaters. Yep, the first act of the Multiverse Saga's conclusion is almost upon us, meaning that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe all around the world are about to witness one of the most grandiose epics in modern movie history.
The film will see Doctor Doom make his larger-than-life debut, seemingly causing a host of incursions around the multiverse - bringing Earth's Mightiest Heroes out of retirement in the process. And, yes, that includes original Captain America Steve Rogers, who now wields Thor's hammer Mjolnir in a bid to help his old buddies defeat their greatest threat.
How do we know that he is their greatest threat? Well, the trailers have confirmed as much. And now, Marvel Studios has released a brand new one that doubles down on that... in much greater clarity than ever before.
Marvel's new Avengers: Doomsday trailer showcases the grandeur of the MCU film
Marvel Studios has unveiled a brand new teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday ahead of the film's release in December. An international teaser designed to showcase the awe-inspiring visuals that will come from the movie if you watch it in Infinity Vision, it features recycled footage from the previous two trailers and expands on them visually, opening up the top and bottom to show us how incredible the movie will look if seen in that format. And, well, you can't argue with that.
See it for yourself below:
Although it's only a short clip, the opened-up footage looks nothing short of spectacular. It goes a long way in making the footage look that much more immersive than the original trailer (or the second, D23 release) did and, in doing so, it really sells Infinity Vision as a concept.
Infinity Vision is, of course, Marvel's alternative to IMAX. Avengers: Doomsday wasn't able to procure IMAX screens due to the simultaneous release of Dune: Part Three so the studio came up with its own version, encouraging fans to see the upcoming MCU crossover on the biggest screen imaginable. And as someone who has already seen Avengers Endgame: Encore in that format, let me tell you that Infinity Vision is worth it. Avengers: Endgame has never looked more majestic and the opened-up clips of Doomsday in this trailer are already giving me flashbacks to that incredible experience.
The moment that really sells it is the footage of Doctor Doom raising the Sentinels (which was a fixture of the MCU's "A Special Look" teaser that spotlighted Doom himself). While the initial shot already looked awe-inspiring, it looks so much more larger-than-life opened up like this in the trailer, highlighting how giant the Sentinels really are in the process. And, despite the heigh difference between them and Victor von Doom himself, the villain looks anything but small here. He's as larger-than-life as you can imagine.
There is no doubt about it that Avengers: Doomsday is going to be a thrill-ride for the ages regardless of which version you go to see. But there is indeed something truly stunning about seeing the footage as opened up as it can be, giving us an idea of what seeing the finished product on the biggest screen imaginable will look like. Marvel fans are certainly in for a treat with this one!
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in movie theaters on December 18, 2026.
