We've seen Marvel introduce no shortage of iconic superheroes on the big screen throughout the years. Fan favorites like Thor, Captain America, and Spider-Man have had four films in their own standalone sagas, while characters like Hulk never fail to make an appearance in the Avengers movies. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded to the point where we can see almost anyone appear in almost any project... with a few exceptions to the rule.
Some heroes have made their big debuts only to never be seen again, and that holds true especially for the Multiverse Saga. Moon Knight, Kate Bishop, Werewolf by Night, Mephisto, and She-Hulk are just some of the characters that belong to this group. On the bright side, there are reports indicating that each and every one of them will return either in Avengers: Doomsday or in the MCU's next saga, which is bound to shine the spotlight on supernatural characters. However, there was one specific group that quickly disappeared from the public eye as soon as their debut movie was released. Fans thought they'd never be seen again, yet that may be far from the case.

Marvel reportedly has plans for the Eternals to appear in more MCU projects
The Eternals film was released nearly five years ago, and since then, these larger-than-life heroes have never been seen again in the MCU. Granted, Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani) was part of the What If...? animated series, and the giant Celestial frozen in the ocean was a key plot point of Captain America: Brave New World. That being said, the live-action iterations of these characters haven't shown up in any project for nearly half a decade, but it seems that will change soon.
According to renowned and reliable insider Alex Perez (via The Cosmic Circus), the Eternals will be one of the pillars of the cosmic side of the MCU moving forward, alongside Nova, Star-Lord, and Shi'Ar. At long last, we'll see more of these synthetic beings, but many questions still remain. Perhaps the biggest one is: When will they jump back into action?
Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars could both be perfect opportunities for the Eternals to make their comeback. That way, audiences would have them fresh in their minds moving forward. However, it's important to remember that it has been reported that supernatural characters such as Moon Knight will be completely absent from the end of the Multiverse Saga (with actor Oscar Isaac confirming this is the case). As such, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume a similar scenario could happen with the Eternals.

It seems the MCU has three main focuses for its next saga: Mutants, supernatural characters, and cosmic heroes. After all, a new X-Men film is in the works by Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier. On top of that, it has been reported that we'll see sequels to Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night before an eventual Midnight Sons crossover project. However, we know basically nothing about the cosmic side of the MCU.
It would be a bold move for Marvel to greenlight a second Eternals movie right out of the gate. After all, the group of heroes has been inactive for many years now, and the first entry in the franchise wasn't well-received critically or commercially. So perhaps the better strategy would be to feature them in a crossover project first, allow them to steal the spotlight there, and eventually move forward with their standalone saga.
Perhaps we can see some of the Eternals reintroduced one by one in other projects, such as the Blade movie (if it ever comes to be). However, it's nice to know that Marvel hasn't completely sidelined them after a single mixed project. With a bit of luck, their reintroduction will be better received by fans, and it won't be far away either.
