The Marvel project we've been waiting for may finally be coming

Since the release of the first Iron Man movie nearly two decades ago, Marvel has created one of the biggest cinematic universes ever. After continuously topping the box office, the studio decided to venture into new territory and began to produce Disney+ streaming shows. While it's clear there was a significant learning curve at first, the superhero giant eventually got the hang of this new long-running format. Despite this, Marvel isn't slowing down any time soon, especially since we've seen more of its video games over the last few years.

Releases like Marvel's Spider-Man, Marvel Rivals, Marvel's Deadpool VR, and, more recently, Marvel's Wolverine have proved that the company is also trying to leave its mark on the video game world. Fortunately, the best is yet to come. There are multiple projects currently in the works, like Motive's Iron Man and Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra (although the jury is still out on whether the latter will actually see the light of day). However, fans have been asking to see one particular hero get the video game treatment, and it seems that day is finally upon us.

Daredevil will reportedly get his own video game

According to industry insider That REDACTED Guy, Daredevil is one of the characters who will get his own video game next, although it isn't clear which studio will work on it. That being said, there have been multiple nods to the Man Without Fear across both Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Wolverine—two franchises developed by Insomniac Games.

In the wall-crawler's adventure, players were able to find the offices of Nelson and Murdock hidden in the streets of Hell's Kitchen in New York City. Marvel's Wolverine took things to a new level by directly mentioning that there's a lawyer in Hell's Kitchen who has "all kinds of ninja stuff."

To add more fuel to the fire, Marvel's Wolverine features the Hand criminal organization as one of the main antagonists. Eventually, Logan visits the Hand's hideout in Japan, where players will be able to spot a red sai, which is a direct reference to Elektra, who uses twin sai as her go-to weapon.

While there's a chance that these are nothing more than simple Easter eggs meant to add a bit more world-building, it does seem like Insomniac is planting the seeds for a bigger Daredevil story to come. Furthermore, out of the many Marvel heroes in existence, the Man Without Fear is ideal to star in his own video game. After all, his abilities aren't overly complicated or difficult to translate into gameplay, such as those of Doctor Strange.

A good parkour system coupled with some slight swinging mechanics (which Insomniac has already nailed in its Marvel's Spider-Man saga) could make for a perfect traversal system. Additionally, the developer could adapt some of the fighting mechanics found in a game like Sifu, where using environmental objects to fight enemies is a must, especially whenever there are multiple villains surrounding the player.

Last but certainly not least, there could be certain types of enemies that Matt wouldn't be able to detect with his enhanced senses, so they could be invisible to the player, making them "invisible" until they make some sort of noise. This could further incentivize players to interact with the environment, perhaps by throwing a glass bottle on the floor and waiting for the enemy to step on the shards.

Despite being one of Marvel's most popular heroes, Daredevil has yet to be the star of his own video game. While developer 5000Ft once worked on a title called The Man Without Fear, it was ultimately axed. So, with a bit of luck, the iconic hero will finally step out of the shadows and take over the video game world. Besides, if Insomniac is the one to make that happen, then a crossover between Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Daredevil could eventually be in the cards.
