The Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of surprises. Heck, we're talking about a franchise that can bring back beloved characters over a decade down the line and sent the internet into a complete meltdown; we know that Marvel is unstoppable. And with the heavily-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon, it's about to prove that all over again.

The franchise will be bringing back a lot of familiar faces in the weeks, months, and even years ahead through its three major upcoming titles - Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars - and that all starts this summer with the first of those three movies. We knew the character would be back already, but now a brand new look at him suited up has come in the form of some long-awaited Marvel merchandise - and it's safe to say that it's a good look.

First full look at the Scorpion's new suit unveiled in Spider-Man: Brand New Day merchandise

The first look at an upcoming Marvel action figure has given us our first full look at the Scorpion's new look in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Officially unveiled ahead of the film's marketing push, the action figure shows us the villain suited up completely - and it's safe to say that the MCU film has gone for a pretty comic-accurate look.

Check it out below:

First thing's first: You can see that super long tail that he will obviously be sporting when he battles Spider-Man in the movie (which we now know will definitely happen), but the figure also makes it clear that he will have a head-piece / cowl much like his comic book counterpart. The thick black rims around the mask's eyeholes are a pretty cool addition that also pay tribute to the character's look in the source material (as well as his classic Spider-Man: The Animated Series look).

What's not surprising is that it will have more of a tech-feel to it than the more animalistic look that he sports in the comics. The MCU often turns to tech when it comes to the edgier villains, and we saw this specifically with the likes of Vulture and Mysterio in the previous Spider-Man movies. While the mask does feature those classic Scorpion eyeholes, they appear to be modified goggles based on the figure.

We got a glimpse of the Scorpion in action in the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day but the far away, in-motion shots made it difficult to get a good look at the suit - even if he was using that signature long tail to attack the webslinger. It did, however, offer up the official confirmation that Michael Mando would be back in the movie, reprising his role from 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Mando had previously confirmed the news himself after reports surfaced that he had joined the production in the United Kingdom in the summer of 2025. The announcement was met with a positive reaction from Marvel fans who were eager to see him back in the role as it allowed the MCU to answer one of its longest-standing mysteries: Would the Scorpion ever get revenge on Spidey?

See, Mando's previous appearance in the MCU came in the post-credits scene of Homecoming when the Scorpion confronted Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. the Vulture (played by Michael Keaton), in prison and asked him to reveal the identity of the webslinger. Toomes, out of respect for the fact that Peter Parker saved his life (and maintained a connection to his daughter Liz), lied to him, telling him he didn't know his identity. And with that, the Scorpion had yet to return to the franchise... until now.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to kick off another trilogy for the wall-crawler, with Tom Holland reprising the titular role once again. The film's plot remains a mystery, but it is expected to tell a more straightforward, traditionally Spider-Man movie, having less ties to the wider MCU than the previous three films. Peter will undergo something of a metamorphosis while hunting down a mysterious new villain, dealing with the Scorpion's return, and potentially even teaming with The Punisher (with Daredevil: Born Again's Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle, too). Yeah, he's certainly going to have his hands full!

Spider-Man Brand New Day arrives in movie theaters on July 31, 2026.
