Being a Daredevil fan is not for the faint of heart. The Man Without Fear had an underwhelming debut on the big screen when Ben Affleck took on the role back in 2003. After the Marvel film was met with mixed-to-negative reviews, the iconic hero was nowhere to be seen for 12 years until the Netflix TV adaptation finally premiered. At long last, Matt Murdock was the star of a gripping, dark, and violent show praised by fans despite a few shortcomings in season 2.
Unfortunately, Netflix cancelled its Daredevil series after just three seasons, prompting fans to begin a "Save Daredevil" movement that paid off six years later when Daredevil: Born Again arrived on Disney+. The future seemed bright for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, with Head of Streaming, Television and Animation at Marvel Studios Brad Winderbaum initially revealing that the plan was for the show to have "infinite" yearly releases.
The dream came to an end when reports indicated that the hero's ongoing project would also come to an end after its third season. There was one silver lining in the midst of all the chaos: Marvel had yet to confirm the news, but the Kingpin of Crime has now put our hopes and dreams to rest.
Vincent D'Onofrio confirms Daredevil: Born Again will end with season 3
For five seasons across two series, we've watched Daredevil and the Kingpin fight for the soul of New York. Their brutal confrontation has resulted in dozens of casualties and countless tragedies along the way. However, Tony Stark said it best: part of the journey is the end, and this relentless dance will come to an end with the release of Daredevil: Born Again season 3.
While Marvel has yet to confirm that the next chapter in the Man Without Fear's story will be the last (on Disney+, at least), Vincent D'Onofrio revealed that the show will come to an end next year.

It's likely Daredevil: Born Again won't be moving forward due to its low ratings. The second season had a 46% drop in views during its first five weeks compared to its predecessor. Furthermore, season 1's opening gathered nearly 2 million views, while the first episode of season 2 couldn't even reach the one million mark.
To make matters more complicated, multiple reports suggest that Marvel will scale back the production of Disney+ shows, opting instead to develop more Special Presentations. On the bright side, the characters that took over the spotlight on the small screen can still show up in plenty of different places moving forward.
It has been reported that Marvel intends to create a street-level crossover film starring the likes of Spider-Man, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and, of course, Daredevil. Furthermore, the Kingpin has been rumored to be one of the main villains of the wall-crawler's ongoing trilogy, which started with Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Luke Cage and Iron Fist—who were reintroduced to the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again—are reported to star in a Heroes for Hire Special Presentation intended to act as Marvel's version of Lanterns. Besides, the Defenders will have a role to play in Avengers: Secret Wars, according to industry insider James Mack.
There are countless possibilities for Daredevil moving forward, from starring in another Defenders show alongside his "work colleagues" to following in the Punisher's footsteps and finally appearing on the big screen. So, with a bit of luck, the third season of Daredevil: Born Again won't mark the last time we ever see Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio portray Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk.
Daredevil: Born Again season 3 will be released in 2027.
