After some recurring ups and downs, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is back on track as it heads towards the culmination of its ongoing Multiverse Saga. The most famous franchise in the world has been laying the groundwork over the past four years (since WandaVision launched on Disney Plus back in 2021, to be exact) for the big showdown for the fate of the multiverse, and even though initial plans for the franchise have shifted somewhat, that battle is nearly upon the heroes of the MCU.

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will bring Earth's Mightiest Heroes together again to fight for the fate of the multiverse and the film features a star-studded cast. Excitement for the movies are at all all-time high, especially after more recent MCU releases have begun directly addressing the imminent incursion that will likely dominate both films. Thunderbolts* felt truly connected to what's coming, and there's no doubt that the next cinematic installment will too.

But before the Avengers tackle Doctor Doom, there's another major threat coming to the MCU that a very different team of heroes are going to have to face, and Marvel Studios have unveiled a first full look at him.

Galactus stuns in terrifying first full look at The Fantastic Four: First Steps villain

The first full look at Galactus has been revealed and, in what isn't the biggest surprise ever, it comes from official promo art for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. If you're a Marvel fan, you'll likely have been here before, getting sneak peek first looks from merchandise or promo art, and now we can add this one to the list as well. The promo art, as shared by Cosmic Marvel, can be viewed below:

This comes after the first look at the character's face and upper body made its way online last month, which allowed us to get a clear look at Ralph Ineson's recognizable face in full Galactus look. It was undoubtedly an intimidating debut, especially after the previous image of the character that surfaced was extremely blurry. This new one, however, allows us to see him in his full, frightening glory. And it's exactly what fans have been hoping for.

To say that the MCU has captured that intimidating look of Galactus is an understatement. The Devourer of Worlds is quite literally what his name describes him to be and, therefore, he is one of Marvel Comics' most formidable foes - so there was concern that the Marvel Studios franchise might struggle to get him right (you know how nervous us comic book fans are when we're passionate about something) but it's clear that there was no need to be concerned... even if the character's previous live-action appearance (in 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) had adapted him as a giant cloud.

But when the first trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released, it teased a gigiantic, comic-accurate Galactus by simply showing his silhouette. From that moment onwards, hopes were higher than they had been. And the second trailer allowed them to grow even higher, for it closed out with the behemoth's massive feet marching through the city.

The Devourer of Worlds is about to make his presence felt on the MCU and it's up to Marvel's First Family to stop him. Only then can their arrival to Earth-616 officially commence so that the battle against Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars can bring the Multiverse Saga to an emphatic conclusion.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in movie theaters on July 25, 2025.
