The Marvel Cinematic Universe has reached across every facet of the entertainment world, holding our interest and thrilling us at every opportunity. It all started on the silver screen, where it continues to break box office records by becoming the highest-grossing movie franchise of all time (with $31 billion to its name and counting!).

Within the past few years, it has also added television to the list of things that Marvel Studios likes to dominate, producing multiple Disney Plus shows set within the world of the MCU. Although it started strong, it's been a bit of a bumpy ride for the franchise, with the studio having to refine its output from time-to-time.

But the MCU is still rolling along, entertaining us on both the big and small screens. Now, it's set to return to the latter with its next series on Disney Plus almost upon us - and a brand new trailer has arrived just in time to get our attention.

Marvel unveils the first trailer for Ironheart

Marvel Studios has finally revealed the first trailer for Disney Plus' Ironheart - a series that has been three years in the making. Dominique Thorne reprises her role from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, bringing Riri Williams back to the MCU for the first time in far too long. She's set to amaze us with her inventions again, and we can't wait to see what she has in store for us this time.

If you'd like a glimpse of what she has in store, check out the trailer below:

As soon as that "From Executive Producer Ryan Coogler" pops up on the screen, it's clear that we're in for one heck of a thrill-ride. The director of both Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced us to Riri Williams in the latter movie, so it goes without saying that his presence is welcome here. And speaking of presences, Riri looks set to make hers felt on the MCU.

The trailer reintroduces us to the character, allowing us to catch up on what's been happening in her life since her last MCU appearance. From the looks of things, escaping deadly traps, making a name for herself, and building some cool tech pretty much sums it up. She has a lot to contend with, and a large part of that is her mysterious partnership with the entity known as The Hood (portrayed by Anthony Ramos). We get our first look at him in action, as he is seemingly committed to helping Riri achieve her full potential - even if that means having her step outside the law to do it.

There are also some really cool action shots of the Ironheart suit as Riri uses it in a way that would make Tony Stark himself - the Iron Man - really, really proud. And we have no doubt that we will feel really, really proud watching her shine when the show premieres this summer.

The studio announced ahead of the Disney Upfronts that Ironheart would do a Marvel Studios first, debuting with three episodes. As the series consists of just six installments, it would have a run of just four weeks. Another example of Marvel Television experimenting with the release format? Perhaps, but the vast majority of studios and services tend to debut their shows with or around a three-episode premiere.
