For decades now, superhero fans had to watch as their favorite characters were divided into different franchises on the big screen, unable to cross paths with each other. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally started to bring many iconic heroes together in epic crossovers, some big players were still relegated to the sidelines. Fortunately, for the first time in cinematic history, everyone is coming together for the survival of the multiverse as a whole.
Marvel has started to pull the curtain back on Avengers: Doomsday, and every new look at the highly anticipated movie only makes us more and more excited about what's to come. Steve Rogers is officially confirmed to make a comeback after a long hiatus, Thor might finally be going back to his more serious ways, and it appears Cyclops will finally get the spotlight he deserves (along with a comic-book-accurate suit). But if all of that wasn't enough, then our latest look at Avengers: Doomsday has unveiled that the best MCU crossover to date is officially a reality.
The Fantastic Four meet the Wakandans in new Avengers: Doomsday trailer
A new leaked Avengers: Doomsday trailer has made its way online, and it shines the spotlight on multiple heroes. Shuri, M'Baku, Namor, and Namora all make an appearance as the kingdoms of Wakanda and Talokan get ready for the upcoming multiversal war. However, the very best part comes when M'Baku meets The Thing and introduces himself as the King of Wakanda, to which Ben replies: "Ben. Yancy Street, between Broome and Grand". That's right, a member of the Fantastic Four has finally interacted with another Marvel hero in live-action.

Since the inception of the MCU, fans have been asking to see the X-Men, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four meet the Avengers. The wall-crawler finally got the chance to join the bigger leagues in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, while 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine finally saw multiple mutants join the MCU and cross paths with other characters such as Blade and Elektra. However, the Fantastic Four haven't shared that same luck.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps was a return to formula for Marvel's First Family and their first adventure in the MCU. However, the movie took place in a parallel universe where no other superheroes exist. As such, fans had to wait even longer to see them be part of a greater crossover or team-up, but that day is finally here.
Now, the bigger question in store is: why did the Fantastic Four leave their homeworld and arrive at the MCU? Well, insider MyTimeToShineHello revealed that Doctor Doom himself will ask Marvel's First Family to help with the incoming incursions. Then, they will all travel to the sacred timeline to warn everyone about what's to come, and it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that they could ask for Shuri's help, too, given that she's one of the smartest people on Earth.
While the leaked Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer just featured Ben Grimm, chances are the rest of the Fantastic Four will be present as well. If that turns out to be the case, then it would be the perfect opportunity for Sue Storm and Reed Richards to share scenes with Namor. Comic book fans know the three characters have a complicated history in comic book pages, so it will be interesting to see if Marvel decides to follow a similar route on the big screen.
Given that the Fantastic Four will arrive in the MCU, the door is open for yet another long-awaited team-up to happen. Superhero fans have been eager to see Spider-Man and the Human Torch interact with each other, as the two share a close friendship on comic book pages. Could Avengers: Doomsday finally make such a wish a reality? Well, reports indicate that Tom Holland's Peter Parker won't be in the highly anticipated crossover. However, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man is rumored to take his place, so there's a chance that Tobey is the one who'll get to crack a joke or two with Joseph Quinn's Johnny Storm (though, let's be honest, Tobey's character isn't all that quippy).
Avengers: Doomsday is certainly shaping up to be the biggest superhero movie to date, and that's just with four teaser trailers. However, fans still wait for the day they can see Victor Von Doom in all of his glory. Could the Super Bowl finally give us a teaser that shines the spotlight on the movie's big bad? Hopefully, that will be the case.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec, 18, 2026.
