The devil is back and better than ever in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, and he's about to bring some friends with him. After the cancellation of the Marvel Netflix shows, superhero fans spent years campaigning for the return of iconic street-level heroes such as Matt Murdock, Danny Rand, Luke Cage, and, of course, Jessica Jones. A glimmer of hope came our way the day the Man Without Fear made a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, opening the door for more comebacks further down the line. Now, such a door was fully torn down from its frame by everyone's favorite private investigator.

Jessica Jones is confirmed to have a role in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, marking her first live-action appearance in nearly seven years. A long time has gone by since we last saw the iconic Power Woman on the small screen, so fans were eager to discover what she has been up to after all this time. But in a shocking turn of events, such a day came earlier than expected.

A new trailer highlighting the ongoing Disney+ series contains a big spoiler that is sure to drop many jaws, even if it is faithful to the source material. So, before we go any further, beware: There will be spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 ahead. Don't keep reading if you don't want any surprises ruined for you... by Marvel itself.

Still here? Great, then it's time to let the cat out of the bag: Danielle Cage might be about to make her MCU debut.

New Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 reveals Jessica Jones is a mother

We've seen Jessica Jones face the demons of her past, overcome big, traumatic events provoked by Kilgrave, and even join forces with the Defenders to save New York from The Hand. Now, we're about to see her raise a child, much like it happened in the comic book pages. A new Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 trailer features a line from Jessica Jones that is sure to shock the world: "They showed up in my house, with my daughter there (...) I'm pissed."

While no specific names were dropped, it isn't far-fetched to assume that Jessica's daughter is none other than Danielle Cage. If that were to be the case, it would also mean that Luke Cage is the father, and we're about to watch the iconic power couple take over the MCU. At long last, they are back.

It has been reported for months that Luke Cage will have a role in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, which isn't surprising considering that the Mayor Fisk storyline is also coming to an end and won't continue in season 3. So, how will such a story conclude? Well, during the Devil's Reign comic book series, Kingpin was overthrown as New York's mayor in favor of Luke Cage, who finally brought an era of chaos to an end. With that in mind, it's safe to assume that we're about to witness something similar on the small screen.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 set pictures reveal that all the Defenders will assemble once more, which means we'll definitely see more of Luke Cage in the coming years. So if he is confirmed to make a return, and Jessica has a daughter, there's a chance that season 2 will give us a peek into their personal lives, and will culminate with Luke acting as New York's Mayor (which would explain why a "vigilante" like Spider-Man gets the keys to the city in Spider-Man: Brand New Day).

It feels a bit anticlimactic for Marvel to reveal such a big (and long-awaited) surprise in a simple trailer, especially now that we're heading into the second half of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, where Jessica is bound to steal the spotlight. However, this generates even more excitement and anticipation for her return, while also explaining why she'll be willing to team up with Matt Murdock once again. After all, Jessica usually likes to solve all her problems on her own... but she's sure to take all the help she can get if the safety of her daughter is on the line.

If I were Wilson Fisk, I would be really scared about what's to come.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
