A couple of days before Invincible Vs season 1 - the first major DLC content expansion of the Invincible VS video game - is released, a brand new trailer has revealed more gameplay sneak peeks, announced new game modes and awards, as well as both premium and free skins.

The latter and the new playable characters are probably the things fans of the game are most excited about. So, with that in mind, let’s break those down, starting with Immortal and Universa.

The Immortal and Universa

The Immortal and Universa joining the fray as new playable characters was one of the earliest DLC announcements for Invincible Vs. Some people were shocked that they were the first to be added since they aren’t among the most popular characters from the Prime Video show or the Robert Kirkman comic book that inspired it. However, after seeing the gameplay, I think people will be happy with what they can do.

The Immortal seems like a newer version of Omni-Man - except he looks a lot faster, and some of his moves will make it easy to string combos together. Universa appears to be someone that gamers who prefer to fight their opponents from a distance will love. Plus, there’s a move where her Staff of Leadership drains some of her opponent’s boost meter.

Overall, good additions. However, the end of the trailer shows that they aren't the only ones who are coming to Invincible Vs in the future.

Angstrom Levy

There was no way that there would be an Invincible game without Angstrom Levy - at least not for long. He’s one of the most ruthless of Mark Grayson's enemies and has a set of skills and abilities that will look great in the game. I fully expect him to have a move or two where he sends variants of Mark Grayson at his opponents, and an ultimate move where he sends you to alternate Earths.

Unfortunately, the reveal at the end of the trailer was a tease. For now, Angstrom Levy will only be available to play at Evo France. The good news is that there will be people who use him and report back on how good or bad he is to use. This will undoubtedly lead to him becoming a long-term addition.

New Skins

No fighting game DLC is complete without new skins. Many Invincible fans knew that Lucan, Thula, and Anissa would be getting their Undercover Viltrumite skins and that they’d resemble what they looked like when they first got to Earth. Anissa is in a skirt with a business suit jacket and blouse. Lucan is in a full suit, and it was great that the creative team took the opportunity in this video to hint at him looking like Steve Harvey. I didn’t know what they’d do with Thula, but athleisure makes sense since she looks like she's always working out.

There are other new skins for fighters other than the Viltrumites loyal to the empire. Titan rocks (no pun intended) a sleeveless hoodie, sweatpants, and sneakers. DupliKate has her hidden zero uniform from when she returns after being assumed dead. Immortal is dressed as his old persona, Abraham Lincoln. Universa is in her Global Defense Agency (GDA) prison suit. Monstergirl was given her leotard from when she returned from Flaxa, while Robot is wearing his Flaxan armor. And there’s Rexsplode and Mark without their masks and Cecil Stedman when he was just an agent.

One of the coolest skins to arrive is Invincible in his blue uniform with the cast on his arms and one of his legs because it's a nod to the storyline in both the Prime Video show and the comic book. I wonder if the casts come off as he takes damage. The character’s costumes are torn during fights, so it makes sense that this would happen to Mark’s casts.

Lastly, it’s shocking that Conquest, Atom Eve, Allen the Alien, Ella Mental, Omni-Man, Bulletproof, and Powerplex weren’t given skins. Granted, some of the people mentioned already have alternate skins. However, while they weren’t announced, there’s no guarantee that something won’t be available later.
